@John in the Woods I'm in the Front Royal VA area. (Not sure if you remember me, but I met you during a Peters Mill trip last year) If you ever want to do Flagpole via Union Springs one Saturday let me know, go there often!
Installed AFE Rock Basher Exhaust, replaced my franken exhaust that I made with some exhaust pipe from Autozone and the factory resonator. Its a lot quieter than I expected, just slightly louder than stock. Makes the wife happy. Sounds decent and has a nice crackle when shifting with WOT. I...
Can confirm they lock when at angles. A similar thing happened to me shortly after I got my JT. I keep all the gear I would need to get to in the bed now on Molle panels. Not sure what the exact angle is, but I can recreate it in my yard by parking sideways on a 24 degree slope
Just wanted to share my experiences towing with my JT for those doing research. Towing was one of the reasons I went with a JT over a JL.
We regularly tow between 3500/4500 ilbs with ours through mountains in VA, WV, and PA to various ATV parks. As far as a mid sized truck goes, i'd say it...
Just installed some cheap cut to length LED strips from Amazon in the bed, wired them into the factory cargo lights. I think it turned out pretty awesome, no issues at night getting gear in and out now.
Decided to go with the JKS Quicker Swaybar Disconnects. Easy to install, quality end links, and not too expensive. They work very well and make disconnecting the front swaybar easy peasy. Easy mod to save yourself a lot of time. I went with the 2.5" to 6" version over the 0 to 2.5 version...
Just saw this. It was a great trip. Rausch Creek is absolutely awesome. I want to get back ASAP.
Was really glad we did a guided ride as it would have been tough navigating on our own having never been before. If you go, download the park maps on the Maprikia App (its a Ski Map App technically)...
Since i've had my Mojave, I always just take my bolts out of my end links and zip tie them to the sway bar to disconnect it for trail rides. I want to get the JKS quick disconnects, but im torn on which size to order.
I have the AEV 2" Mojave spacer lift. The end links that came with the AEV kit...
I've had 2 sets of ridge Grapplers. They did well In the snow and held up really well over time. The 2 things I ding them on are they did not do very well on wet asphalt (not terrible by any means but compared to the falkens much easier to break loose from a stoplight in the rain for example)...
I will be there March 24/25 with a buddy. Signed up to do this guided ride with Offroad-Consulting on the 25th -

Will be camping that Friday night and driving home after the trail ride that...
Thanks. I did the lift first because 2 more inches doesn't hurt, it was relatively cheap, aesthetically it helped the overall look of the truck imho, and the factory 33" falkens are a solid all terrain tire, 3 peak rated, and work really well for my use cases so I don't have a need at the moment...
I grabbed the closest color to the factory orange accents I could at Lowes and it worked out. Just happened to be Krylon Fusion Satin Terracotta
It's not an exact match but it's close enough to not be noticable. I used it to paint my shackles and things too
I have the AEV Mojave specific 2" puck lift and am still on my factory 33" falcons. I've done nearly every trail system in VA with the exception of Potts Mountain with my Mojave and i've yet to be limited by my tire size. For mild / moderate trail riding 35's will be plenty imho.
Im going to...
I too am curious about this, I like the idea of it. No wind noise. Subtle. But really curious about how much light its actually able to throw through the windshield and how much of it gets reflected/splashed back inside the truck at night
Picked up a set of KC Flex Era 3's (Bought KC's 392/Mojave ditch light /A pillar kit). I got them with the Combo beam pattern lens. I have to say, they throw a LOT of light and light up the periphery really well. They seem super high quality and I really like the unique shape. A++ would buy again
Flagpole Knob via Switzer Lake / Dunkel Hollow road is very easy and pretty comparable to Peters Mill Run. Lots of good camping throughout. Union Springs to Flagpole is a little more challenging and my preferred route, a Step up from Peters Mill in difficulty for sure. Nothing a 4 runner on 33's...
I carry a little bit of everything. Tire plugs, mallet, impact gun and sockets, channel locks, needle nose, set of wrenches, vice grips, etc etc etc along with all my recovery stuff
