The new guy. After losing Flapjack, 115 pound Akbash/Great Pyrenees mix, two weeks ago to a heart attack, Blue joined our 4 dog pack. He’s a 106 pound Pit/Husky mix, 13 months old. Great with people, high energy, ball mongering, zoomie running, couch burrowing lunatic.
Roger that. Looking at the side view of that 2 door, with the bed extending further rearward from the rear axle, made me think how poor a crawler it might be with that lousy departure angle. Still, it looks cool and I respect the execution on the build.
I’ve got Thinskinz on my rear doors. Don’t know if they make them for the front doors. If not, how about helicopter tape or griptape? Just a thought.
I’ve got a set of the previous iteration, ACE Fabrication, on my 2020 JTR. A number of folks have expressed hesitancy with dealing with the body mount bolts. I’m a poor mechanic at best. A breaker bar and battery powered DeWalt impact driver had the 6 bolts removed in less than 10 minutes...
If it's snake oil, then I am a rube. I installed one 4 months ago. I have noticed no difference in engine sounds or performance. I fell for the claim that, at start up, the Baxter system keeps oil in the top half of the engine is designed to avoid dry starts and should help avoid premature valve...
Nay. Put a cap on the bed. Put a bed rug in the bed. Get a cap with side slider windows. Remove the window screens and install nylon webbing in its place to keep your dog(s) contained. I’m old. I live with 4 and have always had 3 to 6 rescue dogs. 23 dogs over my lifetime have tutored me on how...
Mind if I ask how you wired your radio for power? Through an auxiliary switch or directly to the battery? What route did you use from the radio to power?
I wonder if this analogy might be useful in these discussions of external oil coolers, Baxter adapters and the like. Perhaps it’s not so much a matter of Jeep design flaws as it is modifications that might improve original design parameters. Sort of like this: JTR OEM rock sliders work...
Did you sand by hand or using power tools? How long did sanding take? Are you planning on Raptor rattle cans or using an air gun? If rattle cans, how many? I ask as I am planning to Raptor my ARE fiberglas cap.
I'm not JTGuy but I recently installed a pair of Terra Acoustics dash speakers in my 2020 JTR. I have found the sound quality of the OEM Alpine system to be greatly enhanced by the Terra Acoustics speakers. Specifically, the high frequency sound is much clearer and crisper and I can crank the...
I installed one in my 2020 JTR with the gas engine. Likely, I’ll never be able to tell if it makes a significant difference in engine life as I can’t run a controlled study. The theory behind it seems sound.
