Yes, it would appear, and then as soon as "wind" or a quick "pressure" difference comes in the cab and the stop top slams down, is when you get the metal on metal noise.
Hi all,
First, thanks for reading! I have a 2022 Gladiator Overland soft top and have an issue that I can't seem to figure out. Whenever the windows are down or the doors are off or any combination of anything (except the soft top being "rolled back"), there appears to be a metal on metal...
Kevman, I watched several, which is where I got the idea to make sure I did it right.
Just seems that if I do a chalk test with only me driving, and get it right, then the minute I add more people or cargo or anything, then I will now technically be under inflated.
Thank you for the reply.
So to make sure I understand, you’re saying now I need to repeat the chalk test going up say 1 PSI each time and see what I get that way?
Hi all!
I will preface this with "please don't laugh at me, I am trying to learn..."
On Friday, I upgraded the tires on my 2022 JT Overland from the stock 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685 to 275/65R18 Falken Wildpeak AT/3. I got the SL load category (same as what was on there).
The tricky...
Well, the tires fell through so I am back to square one...kind of.
I just said the hell with it and ordered the BFG KO2s through Discount Tire and will get them installed tomorrow. I just like the way the tires look...
so I found some Mojave takeoffs locally for 800 bucks with 1500 miles (minus tpms). Yay Facebook marketplace.
would the size difference be detrimental to my vehicle? Current tires are 255/70r18 and these are 285/70r17.
Thank you all for the replies. Granted, I was using this as excuse to get more aggressive looking tires, but, if I can save the money for a bit, then that’s what I’ll do.
I plan on hitting the beaches next weekend and will air down and see how they do.
The locale is fort fisher, NC which, I’m...
Interesting. What’s you’ve said makes total sense.
Would there be a risk these all season tires don’t have sufficient sidewall strength to go down to 20??
Hi all,
New to my JT - picked up a 2022 overland on Monday. Sadly, it comes with these amazing on road Bridgestone Dueler H/T 255/70R18.
I bought it because we moved to the beach and missed the top down / doors off while driving out on the beach.
My off-road menu consists of solely driving...
I’m yet to replace the tires so I’m curious how these stock Dueler H/T will handle the sand. That’s the only place I go. My Tacoma had the Duratrac Wranglers on them, so, quite a bit different.
Hoping with airing down they will be good enough for a little bit.
@NC_Overland - we live out by the Southport side and have an annual pass to Fort Fisher! Already been about five times this year, but ready for it to warm up and swim out there with the family.
Maybe will see you around out there.
