Just a quick update with out a lot of good info...Took it to a shop recommended by an in-law and the good news is the wobble is gone, the bad news is I'm not sure how the shop did it, other than make adjustments to the alignment. Not sure if it was castor, camber or what as I still need to talk...
That's good info, thank you! I'm thinking that's where my issue will end up being, at least partially. I'll for sure get an update once I hear something. Hope your gets figured out as well!
Got it into a shop late this afternoon and so hopefully there will be some headway soon. I did notice that quite a bit of grease seemed to have come from the joints on the front tie rod and drag link both (picture in the beginning of the thread were just of one joint on the drag link) so maybe...
Well, haha, I wish! So its a strange one, and likely way out of my wheel house to deal with alone, so I'm trying to get it into a shop to check the alignment and the steering components/suspension.
I did a dry steering test and could not detect any, what I'll call "lateral slop", that is any...
Thank you for the responses! I’ll take a closer look at that joint and start to shake down other causes as well. The funny thing is I was just thinking to myself on Monday how nice the truck was handling…I must have jinxed it!
Wife had to drive the gladiator this morning to work, and while on the way she said the truck started "shaking a lot" and she said it felt like a wheel was about to fall off -- this was as she was driving about 45-45 mph. I swapped out cars with her and went on the same road at the same speed...
Really dumb question, but for those of you with a bent Metalcloak rear track bar, the bend is supposed to open towards the rear for more clearance, right (concave towards the rear)? Mine concaves towards the front which means the bend intrudes into the space of the spare wheel, instead of...
Welp, Ive got the winch on, wired up (including the cutoff switch) and bumper on. Only issue remaining is the PITA that is the passenger side, inside-lower bumper bolt. The winch plate frame pushes my socket ever so slightly off center and I can't seem to get my socket in there to tighten it...
Thank you Doug and Shadow for the extra pictures and information. It is very helpful! HF didn't have any grommets in stock so ordered some stuff from amazon which should be here in a day or so. Hope to get it all squared away this weekend!
Great info in this thread, but I have a few, likely dumb, questions. For those of you that relocated the wiring out of the control box to the side, what type of grommet did you use (any particular brand of type of material)? Also, when I opened up the control box to drill the hole, I noticed a...
Want to emphasize this point. The UV index, when high, can and will make you miserable without shade. Much different than the heat index that humidity brings, but the UV, especially at higher altitudes, sucks as much out of you as high humidity can. If you are going to be out and about...
Nice! I have a Metal Cloak lift with their new rear trackbar with a bend, but it still wouldn't clear. Looks like I may be giving Clayton a try Thank you for heads-up!
Biggest annoyance so far is getting in and out. 3.5 inch lift plus 38's and no steps! Was thinking of rockslide engineering steps but haven't pulled the trigger. I don't really like the look of other steps or options out there so I'll continue to struggle. Also have to remember that I'm not...
