Casita's are great little trailers...what we wanted...but they are costly. We lucked on an R-Pod 153 that was only a year old but the previous owner had done some "creative changes" to the inside. We got it about $4k under value and with a weekend's work, it was up to snuff. I added dual...
I believe you are right. The step did get bent but a slider sticking out farther may have saved it. Of course, I didn't expect to do much wheeling in the RAM until...lol
What happens when you go with steps over sliders that don't stick out at least some (on my RAM). Boulders and sheet metal have differences in opinions.
Minus possible electrical issues, your stock pump is not up to the task for 37's. Mine used to all but refuse to turn the tires in some situations. It is costly, but a proper steering setup and booster pump is almost a necessity for wheeling with 37's or larger. I am running the Apex 2.5 ton...
My favorite setup is a good LSD in the rear and a selectable locker in the front. I like how the LSD acts for daily driving, especially in bad weather than an open diff. On my JK, the factory LSD came apart at 30k miles, and I replaced it with a Yukon unit. It was a noticeable improvement...
You will probably rub off road as stated with 37's unless you play the bump stop game. Also consider 37s really need steering upgrades. It doesn't seem like a lot but the jump from 35s to 37s is more than you think. Some will say the stock steering components are fine but...
I suggest you...
I had a FJ-40 and a FJ-80 and a 4Runner in my past. I loved my LC's and kick myself daily for selling them. I would have picked up a newer Land Cruiser had the price not blasted up to over $100k.
Now we are finally getting a "reasonably priced" Land Cruiser on the market soon. In a year or...
Full steering kit will help. Its a Jeep and still catches wind, but after the Apex 2.5 ton and booster kit with stabilizer I installed, there is much less drama.
Then skip the QT set. It works well for the occasional smack, drag or stray rock, but you wouldn't want to go hard core with them because of how they mount up.
I am running Quadratec's aluminum set...so far so good after a year or so.

That's a great price...less than I paid for my Apex 2.5 ton and it looks very similar. Add the power steering booster and it looks like a great setup.
Good looking work.
That is my take as well, and I have installed a dozen kits over the years. By far, the Clayton kit has been the best I have had in about 30 years of Jeeping. I tow a travel trailer and it handles it great. 80mph with one hand on the wheel is typical for me. However, I have not run Metalcloak...
I 2nd for Clayton, superior by far than those two kits.

Add shocks and you have a excellent kit. I am running Fox 2.0s on my 3.5" overland plus because my budget only allowed, but I am really happy with...
