That is what I was thinking too, but I've checked the torque and that nut is tight. The Pitman nut was torqued before securing the synergy brace, so nothing should have been binding.

I noticed what appears to be lateral play between the sector shaft and Pitman arm. This seems unlikely, but I am curious what the opinions/experiences you all have. Some details that may or may not be relevant:

I don't trust that measurement too much, the piece on the right in that image is plastic and is floating relative to the axle (not sure if that's as intended). Here's another picture with that part pulled to the center of the vehicle.
