I have the exact same noise. Dealership changed both phasers and oil control valve. Those changed the noise a little but 100% still there. Let us know if the O2 sensor bracket is the culprit.
Dealership replaced right side phasers and oil control valve and issue is still there. So, replacing both oil control valves and all phasers does nothing for this issue.
Any luck with you guys?
Dealership called and they want to replace the right side oil control valve and phaser. I’m not fully confident it’s going to resolve the issue and I’m not a fan of dismantling parts of the engine so often given we just did the left side and clutch:flywheel but it’s worth a try. I’ll let you...
Sadly, no. Clutch in, out, slowly pressing it in, neutral, stopped or driving - nothing. I even tried pushing the clutch pedal left/right to see if it’s wiggling.
Apparently the check they did was something similar. They remove the oil control valve cover and view the oil control valve with a scope. They could see it improperly working and replaced it (and phasers).
Once while it was happening I drove it to the dealership and rode in it with the tech. He drove it and was able to hear it. Thats why they did the oil control valve check. They know it’s happening.
Rattles only when at 2.8k and up RPM. Not at idle. If the rpm’s go below 2.8k it’ll go away. Once it starts the issue doesn’t stop (rattle above 2.8k rpm) until you shut down the engine.
I’ll take it back but they don’t know what to look for anymore.
Once it starts it doesn’t stop till you turn off the engine. Happens even in neutral, when it’s happening.
I’ve heard it’s clutch related which I disagree with. You can touch the clutch when it’s happening and makes no difference. Also happens when under load vs not.
My main concern is...
Another video to hear the noise better.
Ha! I started writing this post when Jeep said the work was finished and they fixed the issue. I wanted to tell people they just released a “fix”. But when I got the jeep back it wasn’t fixed. Definitely not solved
I’ve got a manual 2023 Mojave with 29,000 miles. Around 5,000 miles I heard a weird engine rattle when the ambient temp was north of 90 F. Engine rattle starts at 2,800 RPM and gets louder at 3,000. Happened once in a blue moon but around 26,000 miles it started happening pretty often. Even...
I assume dust is getting in from the corners of the bed tailgate and canopy rear door. You think dust comes in from the bottom? I never thought of that.
Love the setup (canopy and tent). I do get a lot of dust from the canopy bed door. Any tricks to stop that? I also live on a gravel road so it’s a constant thing.
Got the lift and new rear springs. Ride is much better than before. Doesn’t sway and the floppy rear end feel is gone. Definitely recommend it to anyone.
AEV Mojave 2” lift (but no rear spacer)
Clayton 2.5” HD rear springs
Alignment reset
Next is to decide to go with 35” or 37”. I...
They can do it in 8 hours if everything goes smoothly. Do yourself a huge favor and double check the torque specs when you get home. There are a few stories on here of things coming loose.
Handles like you have something in the bed but nothing massively heavy. You’ll feel the rear is lower than usual (rear is 1.25” lower than front) which makes the front feel a little light. When taking a turn at speed you’ll feel it a bit but it’s really not that bad. The wind will catch it...
At the end of August I’ll be adding AEV 2” lift (no spacer in the rear) and 2.5” HD Clayton rear springs. It’ll give me about an 1.5” lift and correct the sag. Then when I load up for camping it’ll have a little room to sag but the HD springs should handle it well. I’ll send an update once...
I just got mine back today … 2023 Mojave with 21k miles. Clutch feels 99% the same. Maybe it catches slightly earlier on the clutch pedal (maybe I’m just paying too much attention to it). At a complete stop, the clutch pedal feels lighter than before, which I don’t like, but that could be it...
