I did this a few months ago, but wanted to get some more seat time before providing an update. I was not too happy with how soft feeling the MC springs were especially when loaded up for trips. After looking around I decided the high capacity AEV springs were what I was looking for and would...
Pulled the trigger on the Metalcloak rocklander 2.5" kit. In talking with MC, the rocklander kit is designed for ~500-600 lbs of added weight in the bed, which I'm likely around. In looking at the kit contents they provide the 3.5" lift rear spring to make up for the weight instead of going with...
Finished up adding insulation to the doors. I used 1/2" foam insulation with a R value of 3.2 from home depot. I put the silver side in as I'm trying to keep heat in and not out. One thing to note as a lesson learned and for anyone else who comes across this thread and wants to do the same, test...
I've only used it for one night so far and I'd say it was nice but was not blown away. I came from using a Mr heater buddy that I'd just put in the bed on low and wow that puts out a lot of heat in comparison. The time I used it I didn't have my insulation kit put up in the tent which would...
Next up was the switch panel, interior lights, and diesel heater.
The lighting kit I got from ASG offroad which provided 3 19" Hardkorr light bars and a custom switch mount for the SP camper. The lights have 3 different color settings and are dimmable. A great part is they have memory so I can...
To provide the solar input, I mounted 2 200w panels from Renogy on the roof. They fit exactly the width of the camper roof structure. For attaching these, I used 45series 8020 (TNutz) and corresponding corner brackets to attach to the t-slots on the roof. Mounting the panels to the 8020 I...
This is going to be a big update....
Have not posted in some time, but the build has not stopped. This time the focus was on the SuperPacific camper buildout. On the list is installation of 200ah of battery in the bed, 400W solar on the roof, interior lighting and a diesel heater.
First off is...
There's a thread here on the "fill neck mod" that removes the two flappers that are up top. I too am looking for a way to pull fuel out for a diesel heater. Likely going to go with a standpipe type that comes in through the fill neck. But if you figure out tapping into the fuel return I'd be...
Nothing major, but got around to building my bed mount bike rack. The t-slot attaches to the bed using two harbor freight 95lb magnets. The fork mount is from RockyMounts. Bike is pretty much a perfect fit in the bed
I picked up a Super Pacific X1 camper, they replaced my tailgate cap with a flat one they made to solve the issue of getting stuck inside of the camper. Not sure if they'd be willing to sell one just on it's own but may be worth an email. I do like the pull handle idea and will likely end up...
Caught that didn't you, it's my 1/24 scale mini-me. Couldn't pass up getting one and it's fun to mess around with at camp. Designed the camper shell and printed it the week prior, the guys at SP thought it was pretty neat, although it needs a white top.
Over the weekend had some big things happen! Made my way down to Portland to get my Super Pacific installed.
Also had to get a shot with my 1/24 scale mini-me
While we were down in the area, decided to go out to Brown's camp and run the two badge of honor trails, Cedar Tree and Fire Break 5...
Been awhile since I have posted but the build has not stopped!
The front received a Relentless offroad bumper paired with a Warn Zeon 10s and Baja Designs S1 with ambers to round it all out. Absolutely love the look of it. Also installed were the Teraflex 1.5" leveling pucks up front to...
Ah, I guess that kinda makes sense. Although having it on ignition but not running still doesn't prevent someone from draining the battery. My use case is I only wanted to power the winch isolator relay if the engine was running. Oh well not a big deal.
Have the factory aux switches in my 23 JTRD and have recently wired up lights to switch 2 and a relay for a winch power disconnect to switch 4. In the switch settings there is an option for battery or ignition which from what I have read determine whether the circuit can be powered when the Jeep...
Be very wary with the SW that comes on the CD. One of the install packages ended up corrupting my OS and I had to perform a fresh OS install. Worked with Justinswidebody and got SW from him after getting my computer back up and running.
