I wanted to know if anyone had any insight.
On the freeway in cruise control the other day, my gladiator started vibrating and it threw a flashing CEL. I pulled over and turned the vehicle off. After a minute or so I turned the vehicle back on thinking I'd still have a CEL and I was going to...
The majority of the bad reviews I've read about the clutch replacement seemed to have far more to do with the software upgrade. In some cases the software installed was wrong (4.10 flashes put on 3.73 seemed to happen a lot), in some cases the software was not accepting changes to gearing and...
If you are doing truck things, you won't put it in electric mode. You'll put it in regular or tow haul, whatever. Then the electric motor provides assistance. People make it sound like it's either/or.
Some days, I'm heading to the mountains, some days to the grocery store. And taking fuel...
Hybrids don't work like this when you leave it in regular mode. You never really run out of battery juice. You don't have to plug it in at all.
I agree with concerns about payload and towing, how they address that will make or break this. Lots of potential if we'll executed
Id heard less, but I saw the studies quoting 37 miles per as an average. So taking a current 4xe and assuming they improve it enough for the same battery only range, that means basically a gallon per day. I live in Idaho. Believe me I know low population density parts of the country.
2 mpg 'isn't much' to an individual, but it's literally hundreds of thousands of gallons to Jeep's total energy impact score.
Even though you may take longer trips on occassion, most trips most people make are under 20 miles- which in theory means you almost don't burn any gas, just your...
I have the Arcus. I like it because it's relatively light. The winch plate and hooks are very solid but the visible bumper piece is pretty light. The overrider doesn't do much for you and would have been much more useful with some tabs for lights welded on. If you are looking for something...
There's not enough oil droplets to significantly effect your octane unless something is seriously wrong, but you may want one for other reasons. Using James H example- he gets 100ml of oil per 3k miles. Figure 18mpg- which makes 167 gallons of gas. There are ~3785ml in a gal of gas, so 100ml...
Synthetic lines are very resistant to water. They don't like it when mud gets soaked in though. So if you have a muddy line you may want to rinse it (see manufacturer directions) to get the grit out. If it's cleanish water I wouldn't worry about it. UV and abrasion - including from worked in...
From that description- it's just a dealer report for work done by vin, it's very unlikely to go on an insurance report as the dealer just direct paid it. Also, you would be AMAZED at how many vehicles get minor damage in shipping. IMHO, this is a non-issue as long as they do a quality fix.
My experience is 35s are fine on the 4.10s. It was about 100rpm difference at 75. It made a difference, but it was small. I went from stock MTs to Toyo ATs (so less aggressive) when I upsized and my mileage didn't drop considerably. It's maybe a little lower, but it's not more than 1/2 an mpg.
I bought a new '22 Rubicon in January of '23. I bought it because I got a really good deal. I didn't do a lot of forum searching prior to my purchase because I'm not particularly worried about the pentastar/manual combo (even with the recall on the manual it doesn't phase me much). After that...
Ya that bit would be nice. I think it was tfl who asked how they got more out of the truck and FCA told them basically intake and tune which was the same answer they gave for the hemi on truck vs challenger.
I'll try to dig it up- I know I saw it in a recent newsletter- but the average is in the 60s. Way back in the day I worked in a body shop, then for Progressive (I left there in 06, it was 45-50/hr. Now I work for a Cities and Counties Pool. Even the shop the Mercedes/Porsche dealer sends out...
It's about 65. In 2009 it was under 50. As of 11/2023 nationwide was around 60 average for body and paint. Really expensive markets like Seattle were still in the 70s. I'm sure I have a national average somewhere around here but it was right around 60 in 2023 for body and paint hours
I think you are putting body work rates and mechanical rates in the same bucket. Body work rates are far closer to 60 (varies some by area, but this ballpark). Mechanical repair rates for auto damage are significantly higher, typically around double body rates.
For my part, I'm not bashing anyone. Go have fun with your car. I'm just thinking some of the goals and expectations I've read here are unrealistic. Like one person mentioned 50lbs for $500-1000. Also, not shifting down is unrealistic with a gas engine that makes it's peak power/torque...
