  1. Inconsistent Fan Control -Works, Doesn't work

Latest update: I installed a new HVAC control module. No difference. I noticed recently that when it is not working correctly, whatever the fan speed was when I last shut off my truck has become the new maximum. So if it had been on 4, the settings 1-4 work but 5-7 are still "4". If it was on...
  2. Inconsistent Fan Control -Works, Doesn't work

With so much communication going over the bus instead of direct wired like in the old days, it is hard to tell where the breakdown is without being able to read the bus communication (which I can't). I wonder if user input on the integrated center stack (the knob and buttons) is listened to by...
  3. Inconsistent Fan Control -Works, Doesn't work

The auto light is not lit and I can change which vents the air comes out of, which can only be done in manual mode. I recall some value switching to "manual" in the T10 when I turned the knob the first time. I didn't follow up on that. I think I read somewhere (wish I could remember where)...
  4. Inconsistent Fan Control -Works, Doesn't work

Bringing this up again. still hoping for assistance on this intermittent blower motor problem where about half the time when I start my truck it is stuck on fan speed 1 and the knob has no effect on it. I have an Icon T10 and have done the following diagnostics: Read codes. There are none...
  5. So, why do Jeep plastics fade so quickly?

Are you recommending Vaseline as an inexpensive plastic treatment or as "bend over and take it"?
  6. Inconsistent Fan Control -Works, Doesn't work

I am having trouble with the HVAC fan control on my dual-zone HVAC. Sometimes it works correctly, sometimes the fan stays on low even though I turn the knob and the fan speed indicator indicates the fan spee I set. It seems to be about every other time I start my truck it either works or...
  7. Power Steering Fluid Level

I haven't had that problem but what he said makes sense. The fluid is expensive. If Jeep can short everyone by a few ounces, that adds up to real money. Or, if it is not on purpose, they may not be doing a very good job of bleeding the system and eventually the air works its way out and the...
  8. brake upgrade

Does your 5000lb trailer have brakes? Can it?
  9. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

I thought GPEC5 started in 2023. I have not heard of any recalls or TSBs about throttle problems or reflashing. Mine is a 2023 JT. Maybe when my PCM gets back from being unlocked I can check into it. Is there a version number I can look at when I get it hooked up to the scanner/programmer...
  10. 3.6 tick!

The TSB has part numbers for cam kits that are supposed to contain all necessary parts. I haven't had to do it so I can't verify if this is true. I saw some shiny glitter in my oil filter last time so I have the TSB on standby...
  11. Brake Lock Differential vs Dana TrueTrac Limited Slip Differential

"Brake Lock Differential" is nothing like a locker or limited slip. It is a poor man's substitute and hurts as much as it helps. If you slip too much or the good traction is moving from wheel to wheel, it brakes you (and cuts engine power) until you are at a standstill. It can't handle those...
  12. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

From HP Tuners regarding a new GPEC5 PCM: "HP tuners can only preform the upgrade service on the original PCM from the vehicle. We unfortunately do not offer upgrade services on spare GPEC5 PCMs."
  13. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

I got it so 1) I wouldn't be without my truck while the ECM was in transit to/from HP Tuners, 2) I'd have the original if the new one never made it home, and 3) as a fallback in case I somehow brick the new ECM. But it sounds like I have added an extra layer of complexity to the process.
  14. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

As you can tell, I am totally new to this whole thing. Tuning in the past has been 1) buy a device, 2) hook it up, 3) press a button to install. Are you saying to install the new ECM then get towed to dealer to get it programmed? It won't run before programmed, right? Or should/can I send the...
  15. Welp now we know who buys these things

I never knew that Hellfire was pink/magenta. I woulda expected blood red or lava red.
  16. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

Can you walk me through how to get started here. I am buying a new ECM/PCM for this project. I am blindly assuming I need the MPVI4, smart access cable, and VCM Suite to extract the existing OEM tune then I send that and the new ECM/PCM to HP Tuners for the unlock. When I get it back I contact...
  17. Do you have a low RPM stutter/misfire/hesitation? I HAVE THE FIX

What you found about the VVL is surprising. Are you able to verify it by watching the 12V control signal for the VVL solenoids? I don't know if I ever saw an official Mopar source that said it goes into high-lift at 2800 RPM but this is what we were all told: I am starting the process to...
  18. Any suggested mods to reduce wandering and “constant correction” on stock ’25 Rubicon?

Mopar "lift" lower control arms for more caster Check the alignmnent (toe-in) to be sure it is spec. I prefer mine to nearly zero. I found part of my steering problem was the rear was sprung too soft. The wishy-washy rear end was steering the vehicle on road imperfections. It was like driving a...
