Nope just a sheet of plywood I had laying around. Cut it to fit and then painted it with spray paint bed liner. I couldn’t justify the price of the goose gear for what it is.
Found out I have a hole in my suitcase muffler while changing out the transfer case fluid what would you do? Looks like something punctured it. I’m thinking about a delete of the muffler. Pros cons with that setup?
Like the title states, doing my diff fluid this weekend. What’s the best way to clean this gasket? I was afraid to use brake cleaner on it because it’s rubber. Also the torque specs for the bolts say 15 ft/lbs plus 20 degrees. For those of us without expensive tools are you guys setting it to 15...
Next mod:
Clayton extended brake lines. Even though I have the 2.5 inch lift, under full drop with the fox shocks the brake lines were too tight for my liking. I didn’t weigh these as the increase is negligible if at all. I stole a tip from an extreme terrain video about reusing the plastic...
yeah titanium lugs nuts are super cool albeit pricey. Might get some at some point. I’m always looking for ways to save weight even though my mods are slowing adding it hahah it’s all a trade off

I PPF’d the whole truck with XPEL around 500 miles in. Best decision I’ve made. Very pricey I think it was around $6,000 but I can literally rinse the car off and it looks brand new. I’m also a little OCD about scratches and the cool thing with PPF is that you can just...
I think you might mean +18 or +25. A -25 offset would be a huge poke.
also when talking about backspacing it’s important to mention the width of the rim a 8.5 wide rim with a 0 offset will have a different backspace than a 9 inch wide rim with a 0 offset
Update on this:
installed the rock jock bearing spacer and bought a digital angle finder. The spacer corrected the angle by 1.1 degrees and brought me to .8 degree pinion angle. I then was able to bring in the UCAs by about 1/8” and now sit at a 2.2 degree pinion angle. The springs look...
I’m glad you posted this, I also have the Clayton and just checked mine. I’m about 3/8 off center as well same issue as you. So I should just shorten the track bar by 3/16 if my math is correct.
Finally got a big mod done today. Clayton 2.5 overland lift. Did it myself in my garage over the course of about 3 days. Still need to get it aligned but the test drive went great. Absolutely love the way it looks. Ended up netting more like 3.5 inches.
and yes I did weigh everything
Clayton...
Update on the rear: extended the UCAs to 16-13/16 from the recommended 16-9/16ths and this brought me to about a 2 degree difference on my pinion and drive shaft according to my iPhone and this should be within spec. Of course doing this the springs started to bow. See pics below
does that...
Hi, looking for advice here. Just installed the Clayton 2.5 overland plus kit on my rubicon in my driveway. Measured all the control arms to Clayton’s recommended lengths. My issue is the pinion angles look pretty severe to me. See pics below
this is the rear
this is the front as it goes into...
