It doesn’t help when someone makes a decision about what they want to do and a bunch of people jump in and argue. How many threads have there been from people trying to disconnect the telematics and within three posts some mouth breather is jumping in “hurrr durrr you have a cell phone, idiot”...
Depends on the kid and the Jeep, but I’d push them towards a TJ and help with buying the tools. Good life lessons, lots of fun, and way less space than the station wagon I had as a first car - if you know what I mean.
It would be nice to see the actual specs on this. I use my truck as a truck too much to keep this on full time, but a must-have for the next house is a shop space where a camper could be stored when not in use.
I'm entirely done with sleeping on the ground.
We have two Jeeps, but my favorite vehicle of all time is the FJ80 series Land Cruiser. I don't hate on Toyota, but do poke fun at the Toyota Guys who think the company descended from heaven on a winged unicorn that shoots rainbows out its ass (especially the Tacoma guys for some reason).
The Tundra and all the other trucks have roll cages, they are just integrated into the roof structure. It looks like the solid axle up front helps a lot by distributing some of the impact to the passenger side of the frame and back along the driver's side frame rail; independent suspension...
Interesting how the first two had the lap belt ride up off the passenger’s pelvis and into the soft abdominal tissue, bet that’s the main reason they got a low score
How important is folded size for you? The chair-in-a-bag ones are smaller but I don’t find them comfortable.
I think these are the ones we use now, the side tables make dinner in camp much easier.
from Costco:
Those will be their first priority to fix if that’s the case
So many people in here are overreacting, there have been 71 fires out of 1.3 million affected vehicles; your chances of catching fire are 0.00005%
I don't see how they could continue with the current engine options past 2030 and remain compliant. Regardless of the current political landscape in the US, powerplant development is going to impact global sales across Stellantis brands.
Part of the problem was Toyota drinking their own kool-aid and thinking they could do nothing wrong; part of the NHTSA investigation included the corporate culture endemic to Toyota from the 1990s and onward. They found a corporate culture of not being the bearer of bad news, people knew about...
It's too early to tell on the newest Tacomas, but it was an issue on the Gen1 and Gen2 models. The rust is one of the reason Toyota went with a weaker c-channel chassis behind the cab instead of a fully boxed frame; it was an attempt to prevent water from collecting inside the frame rails.
