Mine has a very similar noise, however only after cold start and only for the first few minutes of driving. I thought it was piston slap or something else but my oil analysis keeps getting better everything (on change 4 @ 14.5k/mi). If you ever find out, definitely interested.

Some increase/decrease with RPM yes, but thew engine continues to run even during shifting and no weird numbers on the oil checks. I don't typically use climate but I'll try that. Ive run through 2 puddles in two years that have just kissed the bumper, hopefully not from that lol!
