I've got the same setup and I ended up buying a polyester leash, cut it to length, added a grommet with some stainless washers, and drilled that access plate to add an internal release. I've used it daily on a few multi-month trips and it's held up well.

Low sensitivity still makes the crash detection activate during regular driving on gravel roads. Turning the sensitivity off makes parking mode also stop working. There should be a sensitivity level for driving and a different sensitivity level for parking.
Actually, I misread (more like misthought) that. I do NOT have the negative going directly to the battery. It's off the frame. Only the positive lead hits the battery posts. 😌
