I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to thank you for this picture. After not being able to find mine, I saw your picture and was able to trace that wiring bundle up with my hand and unwrap it without even having to crawl under the dash.
You nailed it. People say they want it, but they are unwilling to back it up with cash.
The car below is a Suzuki Spresso. I bought it brand new in Chile in 2020 for $9k OTD. Six-speed manual, Android auto, 2 speakers, power locks, manual windows. No safety standards, limited emission...
I didn't say they abandoned the diesel everywhere. But, you are wrong in that regard. The diesel is not thriving everywhere. It is being dropped in markets everywhere. Even Germany, home of Rudolf Diesel himself, saw the last year of the diesel JT/JL in 2023. It's also absent in most of South...
I love manual transmissions. Every Jeep I've ever owned has been a manual up until the current JL Rubicon diesel and JT Sport diesel. I drove a manual 3.6 in each before committing to the diesel. The 3.6 with the AL6 just kind of sucks. Each are good in certain applications, but pairing them...
I'm hitting a little scope creep on my JT. Maybe you fine folks at Clayton can provide some clarity.
2022 JT Sport Ecodiesel. I'm running AEV Savegre wheels with 10mm offset (5.2" backspace). Original Sport fenders.
This is my daily driver. 25k+ a year. A lot of that is highway, covering...
I should have followed up ages ago. The cover is made by RealTruck. The seals are not sold separately nor considered a replaceable part. Luckily, mine failed during the 3yr/36k warranty. RealTruck told me to take it to my dealer, who replaced the whole cover under warranty the same day.
I miss my Cummins. I downsized to the Gladiator when I retired. I'm living in a metro area now. No land to maintain, no tractors or heavy equipment to haul. The only thing I might tow is one of the motorcycles. Just didn't need a one-ton anymore.
I've spent plenty of time behind the wheel of...
Thanks for the correction. The last time I looked was last year. Now I see, in the countries I frequent, that most are listed as FarOut editions.
Nevertheless the strategy with engines remains, as seen with the Wrangler. Pentastar gone, diesel continues, 4xe added, 4xe only now. The end result...
Since searching this forum for the AEV Savegre will inevitably lead to this thread, I figured I'd post an update. Today I mounted the JK Savegre's that I scored last week. It took a week because I was seriously considering powder coating them a gunmetal color or a darker bronze to jut mix things...
BLUF: I'm trying to figure out if my Sport has been lifted.
So I bought a gently used 2022 Sport Ecodiesel a few months ago. It belonged to a senior dealership employee who took a job at Toyota and was forced to roll in a company car. Thus, the dealership did the sell on his Gladiator, which...
I'm going to address this as someone who has lived outside of the USA for most of the last 20 years. The Ecodiesel is only being discontinued in the US market. The Pentastar is being discontinued in most of the EU market. It all comes down to pricing and efficiency and has nothing to do with...
There is a common misconception that all accidents trigger airbags. You need two conditions to trigger an airbag, threshold deceleration and proper direction. It is completely possible to have an accident, even intentionally cause a crash, and not deploy an airbag. I used to teach this to...
Yep. I've met some epic douchebags at dealerships. Most just didn't know anything beyond what a computer could tell them. It's always refreshing when you meet someone that knows there is troubleshooting beyond a code. This lady knew that battery was bad, but she couldn't get the computer to say...
Well, the dealership visit was worth the time. The batteries passed their test, but they agreed that the main wasn't taking a charge properly. The tech said she couldn't replace them under warranty unless they failed. So I walked to lunch down the street and both batteries suddenly failed the...
