Can't do just one. But in order of importance...
1) air compressor & tire repair kit
2) spare fuses.
3) 150' or more of recovery straps, shovel, axe, saw.
4) tall rubber boots
5) contractor grade trash bags
Not going to list knife/gun since you should already carry those on you just about...
2020 JTR w/3.6L & automatic transmission. ~68k miles with NO major issues yet. A few cheap minor repairs all performed by myself (sealing the rear window, replacing the cheap plastic sun visor supports, aux battery delete: all totalling just under $30). Running Milestar Patagonia XT...
If you're not racking up 15-20k miles a year some of your tires will age out before you wear them out. Personally, I won't run tires older than 6 years old. They lose their resiliency, and become risky in the rain.
For me, it's the smile it puts on my face every time I look at it. That goes for the past CJ5, CJ7's, TJ, LJ, JKU's, and current JTR I own. I did have a '92 CBR600F2, and a 2013 Mustang GT Convertible that I was pretty fond of for a few years each, but nothing quite makes me grin as much as...
Personally, I couldn't care any less about these "concept" builds. I can't buy it. I can't drive it. 99% of the time, they're a total dead end with ZERO production intent, so it might as well be a new Ferrari or a new School Bus for all I care. If it's not something close to an intended...
EXACTLY right. The trailer brake controller not only increases your total braking power, but most importantly, if it's adjusted properly, tremendously increases the likelihood that you won't have a jack-knifing incident.
I've got the premium leather seats in my JTR, and I think they're very comfortable.
Regarding interior temps & noise, Hotheadz headliners will help tremendously. No matter HOW hot or cold it gets, fan speed #3-4 is plenty for maintenance temperatures.
I had one of these! My 2nd Jeep... A blue '76 CJ7 with the Levi Blue Jean interior & 304V8. Bought it in ~'86 in near mint condition with ~50k miles for $5k. Sold it around the time we had our first kid ('94), and couldn't afford to get back into a Jeep until '99. Bought a '99 TJ then.
During hunting season, riding with my Uncle in his (new to him at the time) '76 Tan color Golden Eagle CJ7 (304 V8 w/Headers & dual exhaust, ~3" lift, & 33"x12.5 Mud Tires) in ~'81. IIRC he had some sort of positraction/locker in the back axle at the least, limited slip in the front, and could...
Bought my first Jeep (CJ5) back in ~'84, and have been waving ever since. I wave at all Wranglers (CJ's, etc), Gladiators, and any built-looking Cherokee, GC, or Liberty. I *USUALLY* get a wave back if they're paying attention. If they don't, I don't take it personally.
Yes. I looked at those, BUT, (evenly spaced like in the pic) they conflict with the factory front camera placement, so either that kit needs another light to change the spacing to the same as the 2024+ model, or those of us with the factory front camera can only use two of the lights without it...
Ran my (stock) set of Falken Wildpeak AT's at 37psi. Got 65k out of that set. Rode a little harshly, but not terrible. Just swapped to Milestar Patagonia XT's (35"x12.5"R17) but have not re-geared yet. Running them @ 37psi also. Definitely a better ride than either the Falkens, or the...
