I bought the jeep off a lot in December 2023. It already 'supposedly' had the recall and clutch done before I bought the vehicle. Regardless, the vehicle would go in limp mode. I rolled the dice, thinking it's the clutch and put the ACT clutch in. Still had issues going into limp mode. Once...
I hear you friend. Hemifast solved it and I never looked back. At least you had the luxury of having someone come out and look at it. All I got was - We couldn't duplicate the problem because we don't have a beach to drive the Jeep on, thus there's no problem.
AJ with Hemifast is your best bet. In the meanwhile, use Jscan or a Tazer. I have jscan because they had the limp mode reset feature before tazer came up with theirs. Either one works, you can pull over and reset.
All, I wanted to update my latest experience with the Mojave 6 speed manual on the sand. Per a previous thread, I would go into limp mode after a half mile of beach driving.
I replaced my clutch with an ARB clutch which improved the drivability tremendously. Still went into limp mode every...
KQL, thanks for that reply. I have tried measuring the actual tire sizes when I air down and resetting the tire size. I should probably experiment with larger / smaller than actual. My little brain can't figure out which way is more beneficial lol. The problem is when it happens, I'm on...
Stan, thanks for the reply. Birds and I have been dealing with this for almost a year now. Synopsis is, everyone believes that the algorithm used by the powertrain control module to determine clutch temperature simply doesn’t work in sand. The algorithm was put in place to alleviate the...
So, I’ve been struggling with this issue all summer. Intermittent service transmission light, vehicle in limp mode whenever I drive on the beach (isn’t there a Desert Rated badge on the side?)
Put in an ACT clutch at the dealer when I found one who would do it (some dealers refuse to install...
Not sure why anyone would want it, since they all came with it, but you never never know. Pick up in Levittown PA, I'll keep it around for a few weeks before I give it to the scrapper.
In Levittown PA, come pick it up. Not sure why anyone would want it, but you never know. I'll keep it a month or so before it goes to the scrapper. If you want a pic, let me know. It' came off my 6 month old Mojave.
Hey, thanks for asking. I picked the truck up last Friday, pulling out of the dealership I already knew the ACT clutch was a completely different experience. Broke it in on the drive down to OBX. What an upgrade over the mopar clutch. So, like yours, mine still throws the Service...
There's a semi-local dealer who had an interest in actually solving my issue, so the ACT clutch is going in today! My brother used to be a service manager at a CDJR and he said don't install it myself, just in case there's an issue down the line. (I'm not ASE certified). Cutting it kind of...
I'll be paying out of pocket, and funding it with the "inconvenience" reimbursement. BUt the service manager says that they can't install non mopar parts while the vehicle is under warranty. At least that's what the service writer said. This is a clear case of Jeep abandoning a loyal customer...
Sweet! Glad it's working out! Can't wait to be back there in 2 weeks. I usually do ramp 38 or 49. 38 is only a mile south of my house. Whether I mosey down to Frisco depends on wind / surfing / fishing conditions.
