  1. Custom removable steps for factory Gladiator rock slider rails preview (coming soon)

Yeah, the price is steep, but when I factor in my equivalent hourly rate to make something like this, it would be way beyond $1,000. And when I did sit down to design my own, the concept was very close to these, but I am pretty certain that my ability to machine to the level of precision...
  2. MUD FLAP/SPLASH GUARD DILEMMA

Why not drill a couple of holes if you need to? Is it drilling into the Jeep or the new rails? Look at the Rally Armor stuff. They have some Gladiator trim specific stuff, and some universal stuff as well. I use the basic universal and have been quite happy with them in the mud and winter...
  3. Flagpole Knob/Peters Mill April 11-13

Peters Mill is pretty easy. Flag Pole going up Union Springs is very doable in most 4x4s with enough ground clearance. Only time I have seen people having trouble going up is during or after a lot of rain if they have open diffs. Choosing a smart line always solves it. Going down is so easy...
  4. Custom removable steps for factory Gladiator rock slider rails preview (coming soon)

Looking forward to these, the video shows the difference between my homemade solution and something properly engineered. Where do you expect the final price to land, approximately, I do not need an exact number just right now?
  5. backup camera mod

I just installed this yesterday, and the result is exactly what you want if the glare bothers you. The instructions were clear, and if you have any experience working on cars the process is very quick. His assembly quality is way beyond most eBay specials.
  6. W VA Route/Trail Suggestions?

The Flagpole Knob up Union Springs is popular for a good reason. It’s in the GWNF with plenty of other stuff in the region. It’s technically in VA though. Cannan Loop and area in northern WVA is a nice area. I recommend something like Trails Offroad or OnX for good guidance.
  7. MOJAVE Edition Gladiator JT Club

Welcome to the JDM-MT club. Contrary to some views, I like the manual in this truck. And the Mojave is just so much ridiculous fun when going fast off the paved roads.
  8. Peters Mill Trail ride sometime next week?

If you’re coming from the south, it’s a good idea to stop at the top of the mountain and let the truck cool off in this heat this week. Temps will be in the mid ‘90s. I did it south to north a few years back in the hot summer, and the climb is fun but your engine and tranny WILL get hot. take...
  9. My review of BFG KO3's after 2500 miles

The 3peak might not mean much where true winter tires are mandatory, but for folks that only get a few snow storms a year, that extra few percents may be all that is needed to stay safer (safer being better than not safe ). And yeah, MT’s really are not optimized for rain or snow, hence the mud...
  10. My review of BFG KO3's after 2500 miles

Had Duelers a long time back, my impression is they have improved in the mud and rocks, but I always felt they were actually quite good in the snow and rain. The Cooper STT Pros were amazing in the ricks and mid even at half the tread left, and they are also loud loud LOUD! I would not put...
  11. I've never seen a 2dr Gladiator mockup i've ever liked before... this has changed my mind

There is definitely truth to this, this was a concern for us going to a Gladiator from the H3. And after test driving a handful of midsize SUVs and pickups, the difference is noticeable. I think the purpose of the vehicle ends up making or breaking the decision. Example, the H3 is soooo much...
  12. How to properly use 4WD with MT

    this is good sound advice
  13. How to properly use 4WD with MT

No need to be worried, you will really have to work at it to hurt your car. Definitely read the manual. Practice on some dirt roads. Leave it in gear before going down a hill. Have fun.
  14. How to properly use 4WD with MT

you obviously have not driven a 2017 Chevy Cruze…. ?
  15. How to properly use 4WD with MT

I found 4lo shifting sweet spot is low speed, between 1~5, but it is not too bad if your stopped for some reason. locker engagement is so quiet it can barely be heard. Embarrassing part is having to recalibrate shifting when you are back in 4hi or 2hi. The first gear, in the Mojave at least...
  16. MOJAVE Edition Gladiator JT Club

Back surgery sucks terrible, I had it a year ago, and the results were amazing but full recovery took a long time. I still feel it after a day on the trails but it is now manageable without meds usually. The Mojave is much nicer on the trails than my last car, and that’s without any...
  17. Mud flaps, again

I bought the rally armor set for less than $30. Knocked out existing plastic rivets in the front and back, added an extra set in the back. The hardware is all 1/4-20, which fit perfect where the rivets were, and you could use M6 if you prefer to keep with metric. Main goal was to keep most of...
  18. Jeepers of Maryland

    Thanks, I’ll take a look.
  19. Off-roading in Maryland

Wolf’s Den is supposed to be getting better all the things, but I have not been there yet. Plenty of dirt roads in the western half of the state.
  20. Jeepers of Maryland

Oh, and I am out in Hagerstown.
