Digging up this thread. I'm on a Willys with narrow axles and an Evo short arm lift with 17x9 -38mm 3.5" BS wheels and wanting to move to 40s. I already have Dynatrac pro steers and an Artec truss, so if like to run these axles for a while. Mine gets wheels pretty hard, I'm currently on chopped...
Over the weekend, a buddy and I installed a 4.5" Evo Enforcer Stage 4 lift and some Bilstein 5100s. Super stoked with the outcome, but now I'm in the market for a front drive shaft, lol.
This is a thread that needs to keep going, lol. Anyone running 40s on sport axles with 4.5" backspacing? I'm totally prepared to go 3.5" BS, but would prefer not to push the wheels out any further than I have to.
Everyone's got their own opinion and needs. I'm not spending $2k for a semi float 60, even if everything else you say is accurate and I could get one under the truck for that. I do all my own work, so labor isn't a factor. I'm trussing the front because it's cheap insurance, and welding the...
I'll install the Artec axle armor kit on the front axle of my '23 Willys next week. On the JKs I know it was fairly common to break the rosette welds and spin the diff housing on the tubes in the rear. On my JK, when I regeared and installed the truss on the front axle I also welded the tubes to...
Digging up this old thread since this happened to me yesterday. I was in 4L and nearly stuck and trying to "rock" it out, which I managed to do successfully, but with very little help from reverse. Has anyone found a solution or workaround for this?
Anyone who has done this swap, how does it drive with the 3.6l? I assume you would run at least 5.38 gears. Is it tolerable, particularly on the freeway? I'm in Texas, so 80-85 mph cruising speeds are the norm. No towing and otherwise light rig.
It wasn't bad. I used a razor blade to cut the tabs off. The plastic is pretty soft, so it cuts easily. Take your time splitting the flares to avoid any stress cracks (I didn't have any, the paint still looks perfect). I used a pair of tin snips to trim the factor front liners and reused them. I...
I have the total control model with the 4 tire attachment. It'll bring 4 - 37s from less than 10 psi to 30 psi in about four and a half minutes. You set the pressure you want and it shuts off automatically. I love it.
How do you like the bumper? Narrowing down my choice and this is among the top choices. Are you confident the corner would hold up to so hard wheeling, i.e. dropping off ledges?
