I have a slightly different opinion, as I have owned several other vehicles in between...but I keep coming back to the Gladiator. I am on number four. I have put 10,000 miles on mine in less than four months. Even with 37's and 3.5 lift mine is a daily driver that still makes me smile!
For all around use I truly liked the Sport S with the Max Tow. Other than clearance it tackled everything that I threw at it with ease.
The lifted on 37's with the lockers Rubicon's for me are just more of a guarantee of if the shit hits the fan kind of thing I have the best vehicle for any...
Oh, and I bought a new Grand Cherokee L new in 2023. Fantastic on road. Great ride as well as comfort. Fuel economy was awesome. Anything other than a gravel road kind of trail, not so good. Because of the design of the upper control are even a tire upgrade was nearly impossible. With several...
I thought that this thread was regarding Sport S vs/or Rubicon? I have owned a Sport S, Sport S Max Tow, and two Rubicon's. My dislike in the Sport S without Max Tow was no limited slip axle, standard audio system and no heated seats. I settled for it as the price was low.
I traded that one for...
They look awesome! I have not mounted mine yet, but soon. I have a Rubicon with a 3.5" lift. How much lift is on yours?
I have Kanati Trail Hog AT in 37x12.50r17 and the Firestone's, at least not mounted, seem a little smaller in diameter.
Thanks
I have not had this problem in a Gladiator yet, but 29,000 miles is the most that I have put on one.
I have had a similar problem on both Crown Victoria and Charger Pursuit vehicles though.
If it feels like on an uneven surface, or changing lanes that the vehicle moves (with or without imput)...
I had both a Sport S without Max Tow and a Sport S with Max Tow. The one with Max Tow to me was much better. The suspension rode, drove and handled much better. The payload was higher but several hundred pounds. The limited slip differential was also invaluable to me. Last winter in the snow, as...
I previously had a 2023 Sport S with Max Tow. It had every option but the body colored hard top and leather. It was my favorite of the four that I have owned. I am on my 2nd Rubicon..I still prefer the Max Tow over all.
On the subject of fender flare extensions. I have 17x9 wheels that are -12 offset. I also run 37x12.50r17 and have a 3.5 lift.
I did not buy the wheels and tires for "poke". I got the wheels for a more optimal width for the tire as well as offset for good clearance.
I didn't purchase the not...
Thank you! I like your Gladiator as well. This white one was the best driving of the four. It was a Max Tow with a 1.5 leveling kit on front and 315/70R17 with Mojave Wheels.
At my elevation in East Tennessee, yes the would help. We are from 900 to 5900 feet above sea level. Not the Rockies. The issues are like on Jellico Mountain where you little meander uphill for 19 miles. I do it every week. I will drop slowly from 8 to 7 to 6th gear going up the mountain and...
I have had 3.73 gears with 275/70
R17 which I think is about a 32" tire. I also had 4.10 gears on a Max Tow with light 315/70R17 and they performed virtually the same.
I am on my 2nd Rubicon with 4.10 and 37's. The first one had a camper shell and a 2.5 lift and with me in it weighed 5,670 lbs...
I know that in my case, my Gladiator can make a bad day much better. I know that as a vehicle, to most whom have never owned one, they truly would not understand . They may make little sense as far as practicality, comfort, drivability and economy.
I had a 2024 Bronco Badlands that I traded...
How has the ride been? What tire pressure are you running? How is the noise? Inquiring minds want to know.....for those of use whom have not installed them yet. Thank you in advance.
I should add that between Gladiator 's I have had a Ford F150 Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5.0, a Grand Cherokee L, and a Challenger Scat Pack. I continue to return to the Gladiator. To me it is the jack of all trades....and the master of one, it fits me as well as my lifestyle.
I hope that everyone...
