  1. Proof that 87 Octane fuel is limiting your 3.6

While not completely relevant to the discussion.,..I drive a 3.6 1500 pickup for work. It will ping if I don’t run 89 or better when it’s hot out. While I’ve not noticed it on my gladiator under normal conditions, i did notice some when towing a trailer in hot weather. My guess would be...
  2. would you let your 18 year old have a Jeep

Warning: I got my first jeep (CJ5) at 17. This has cost me lots of money over the years….buying jeeps and jeep parts…I think I’m on Jeep #15 and I currently own 3….lol
  3. Might be time to change: Ram 2500

Funny that’s exactly what I have a non modified 06 4x4 cummins crew shortbed I bought new…wish they still made them. It’s crazy that I get better mileage from a 20 year old 3/4 truck than a 3 year old gladiator. I had a 22 ford 7.3 gasser…yeah not so much on gas. Great truck though pulled...
  4. Might be time to change: Ram 2500

The 6.4 gasser is an excellent motor…It’s actually sad what’s happening to modern diesels. My 06 cummins gets 3-4mpg better than the 3.6 gladiator…in every scenario. Unfortunately diesel prices negate that. When I bought it new diesel was cheaper than gas. If I bought a new 2500 I wouldn’t...
  5. Might be time to change: Ram 2500

I won’t judge. I own an old 5.9 Cummins and will never sell it. The gladiator is way more fun and actually more useful unless a need to tow a huge trailer. I find that I rarely need to tow big…so it makes more sense for me to have an old 2500 and a newer (very reliable) small pickup for 90%...
  6. spray in LineX bedliner, yay or nay?

My 2006 cummins was done in linex in 2006…still looks great. Do it. I had the gladiator done in ā€œpatriot linerā€ which looks exactly like linex. Apparently the patriot company is former linex guys who started a new business. That’s what I was told. Seems just as good and is holding up well.
  7. Buying a 2026 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon

Nice looking pickup can’t beat black. You will enjoy it…I still think mine is the best vehicle I’ve owned.
  8. Joined the Retro Wheel Club with my '22 Rubicon.

Looks great. I personally hate 99% of the new style aftermarket wheels.
  9. S&B cold air intake test and dyno

After reading this thread I’ll say this…as someone who used to modify every car truck or jeep for performance. I think that the benefits that we used to see were on engines that were slugs to begin with. A 1992 Mustang 5.0 made 225hp it had the potential for much more with some small...
  10. Flush or fluid change

I guess it’s antidotal but I have a very good friend who runs several commercial auto repair places and has been in the business for 30 plus years. He told me NEVER let anyone flush your transmission.
  11. Jeep survey... Windshield

It’s iconic (the windshield) but after the YJ it became too many steps to fold the windshield in my opinion (removing wipers..etc). Also I’m old I don’t even want to the touch screen in the 2024 and up…looks ridiculous. let alone anything projected on the windshield. I always look at this...
  12. The true mindset of most Jeep owners

Speaking of premium…there’s one that just came on marketplace for over 20,000 near here (1.5 hours away) 06LJ Rubicon low miles. Sad that I still want it…but I’m building a house so no big purchases…for now.
  13. The true mindset of most Jeep owners

I bought a 98 which I drive more than anything (I bought an 02 new and several used since, I personally love the TJ for overall jeepness)….i wanted and still want a 03to06 rubicon. Your correct on the premium…lol
  14. The true mindset of most Jeep owners

For some reason when I was a teenager I gravitated towards 4wds in general (currently I have 5 not including atvs). Bought my first CJ5 at 17 for $700. I’ve had at last count 25 jeeps currently 3. I really don’t care what people think. I just like jeeps. Is the gladiator the best pickup...
  15. Spray-in + Drop-in Bedliner: power move or overkill? Vote & win gear.šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ˜Ž

I run a spray in and a mat…have in my cummins for 20 years (bought new)….it has zero dents in bed…stuff doesn’t slide…, catches spills, and I use it for whatever I want. Same with the gladiator. Plus the bed mat is cheap extra insurance.
  16. Long Distance with Motorcycle Hitch Carrier?

100%. If you look on Amazon etc they sell various stabilizers/anti rattle hitch devices for them. As for the carriers… I have two one is cheap (steel) from who knows where and another is all aluminum probably expensive (came with a dr650 I had). The cheap steel one works better to be honest...
  17. Disable Autopark thang.

    Documentary…it was a documentary.
  18. Disable Autopark thang.

I do need a taser…seems like a lot of weird intervention by this vehicle that we really don’t need. It seems odd to me that a lot of these features you just can’t simply turn off from factory form.
  19. Disable Autopark thang.

Well, I agree with the OP. I don’t need this Technology to keep me safe. I’m smart enough to not hang out the door at the drive-in. However, some of the places I go with large rocks in the road I like to open the door to see what I’m running over etc (I use low range weekly). Or to simply pull...
  20. Anyone Using 5W-30 Oil? Tell Me your Opinion/Thoughts

lol well my dad may he rest in peace did 3000 oil changes…he’s the one who made me a motor head. He had a jeep Comanche he bought new with 350,000 on it…I learned to drive stick on. So I still do it that way.
