Easy to disable after starting the vehicle. I move my finger to the right about 6 inches and push the button. It's muscle memory now and I don't even have to think about it.
When I look at a picture of part number 6504135 it has the right dimension but a different finished look vs the pins I removed. I searched around and ended up ordering 6503943 which also has the correct dimensions and closely matches my original pins.

I believe it's part number 6504135 but wanted confirmation before ordering.

Hate it too. I chose the free option and put the fob in the handy slot between the drink holders when exiting with engine running. I had to "train" myself but now it's just muscle memory.
Probably a shot in the dark, but how many times have you programmed to the garage opener? Could it be it's at the limit of how many remotes it can store? Maybe try resetting the opener back to "new" and then try programming? Like I said, just a random guess...
This is the way. I made the mistake of dealing with another insurance company on my own. As noted, they did everything in their power to be the biggest PITA to get me to go away. I can be very persistent when needed and it ultimately worked out okay but never again.
Okay there, John Wayne… I mean that’s a false assumption an empty ammo box is a theft deterrent - unless there’s some data out there to back it up. I leave a coffee mug in the cup holder most of the time and have never had a vehicle stolen either. Theft deterrent effectiveness is probably equal...
