Totally agree. I have both the little stubby antenna and the longer one with much higher gain. No comparison. I had to get a comet mount for the roof rail on the Subaru so I can tilt it down to get into the garage.
I've had a Midland MXT275 for some time, but I've held off doing a permanent install in the Subaru in case I find a year end deal on a Gladiator. Fingers crossed! I like the 275, but I wish I'd bought a 50w radio instead of 15.
The bad actors ruined CB for the most part, but the FCC still has eyes on it. They just socked a chronic offender [causing deliberate interference} with a $25K fine. So it does happen. Rarely.
With GMRS you get one call sign, but any family member can use it, and the interpretation of...
As far as oil samples, Speediagnostix is an alternative. I've used them before with my 911. No Gladiator yet but on the Subaru Crosstrek I try to get the oil temp up over 210 when out & about.

GLAD you found a source for occasional AC power for a charger. The solar panel ideas are all good, but since you live in an apartment, there is always the specter of theft and vandalism.
I've used the glass sealant from Griot's Garage for several years on a variety of cars. If you follow the instructions, it works really well and lasts as long as Rain-X or longer. {Obviously less time if the vehicle sits outside instead of a garage}...
It's really unnecessary paranoia on my part. The truck would be garaged, and we're at the stage that we don't travel much. From the input above it sounds like a fairly involved process to remove them. thanks
Those removable tops are why I'm still on the fence about getting a Gladiator. I'm just starting to look around, and I'm still recovering from the sticker shock at the local dealer. Dumb question but do all Gladiators have the removable tops or is a solid roof available?
Greetings from Flyover Country. Not presently a Gladiator owner, but I'm seriously considering one. No interest in off-road, I just want a smaller truck with a high degree of reliability. This seems like a good resource to do the homework.
