Iāll be honest and say I havenāt kept up with new, or new āishā Stellantis engines. Iād only ever heard about the 4cyl turbo Hurricane engine⦠I didnāt know they also made an I6 version. Learn something new every day.
This is what Iāve been saying. An updated inline 6 with a turbo would give just enough performance increase to satisfy the super majority of people, while also increasing reliability, and possibly even gas mileage.
I personally follow an āextremeā version of oil changes for a brand new vehicle, based off of what Lake Speed Jr. does with his personal vehicles. If you donāt know who he is, heās a tribologist (a specialist in the science of friction, wear, and lubrication), certified lubrication specialist...
Itās already been beaten to death, but Iāll throw in my comment anywayā¦
For me, itās Gladiator. I like the looks of the Wrangler more, but for my personal needs the JT is far and way the best option. Like someone else mentioned, I donāt want to throw a deer carcass into the back of a Wrangler...
Exactly! Iāve said before on Reddit that Subaru WRX owners are like the Insane Clown Posse fans of the car world. They act stupid, and no one likes them š
I know Stellantis makes some crap 4cyl engines, but Iāll die on the hill that Jeepās overall poor rating is due to 2 things:
First is that the cheaper models are bought by people who just flat out donāt care about maintenance, or canāt afford it.
Secondly, that Wranglers are overwhelmingly...
Coincidentally enough, I just saw a post about this the other day on the Wrangler subreddit⦠it was literally 99% in favor of waving to JT owners. Damn near everyone was like, āItās a Wrangler with a truck bed. Wave to them. Just donāt wave at a Compass or modern Cherokeeā¦ā They also mentioned...
Haha, thanks! Believe it or not, it was my āinternalā call sign in the army. When we were on squadron-level radio I had our official call signs, but if we were just talking amongst the platoon, I was āBalls Deepā because it was my personal motto lol
Grabbed a Fishbone Mako stubby bumper, and went just a smidge bigger with some Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 285/70/R17 (basically 32ā for the OE MTs and 32.7ā for the Nittoās).
Oh, totally. Itās absolutely something people would need to consider if they can stomach that battle or not. Iām of the mindset that modern vehicles, if changing the oil regularly, should make it past the warranty before issues, anyways.
BUT, the one good thing about the MM Warranty Act, is...
They do test it, thankfully. The specs to meet all these different ālicensesā is known to the oil companies⦠they can test to meet and exceed the standards. But smaller companies like AMSOIL arenāt going to pay $50k-$100K *each* to send their oil to API, GM, Chrysler, Ford, VW, etc so that those...
The only way theyāre different is that they are refusing to pay for the āprivilegeā to use the approval sticker on their bottles. Itās no different than how BP is no longer āTop Tier Gasā, because they stopped paying the licensing fee to display the logo on their pumps; however, they exceed the...
Not even just newbies! But that is exactly why I always change mine, my wifeās, and my kidās oil. I know that Iām not being rushed to get 20 cars in and out⦠Iām taking the time to properly torque everything⦠I know exactly what oil is going in, etc etc.
No one is going to take as much pride...
People will disagree, but letting the car sit and idle for 5-10 mins is useless. Modern cars do not warm up very much while idling. And then it also lets condensation build up, which is bad. The transmission is also not warming up while sitting there idling - and people tend to forget the trans...
