Agreed. Anyone who thinks they “fixed” death wobble with a steering stabilizer will have it return. This is simply hiding the real issue. I can make mine go away too by tightening up my adjustable Fox stabilizer. But that isn’t the answer unfortunately. I have something else going on.
I replaced it with a Synergy track bar about 30k miles ago and just pulled it off to add the flipped drag link last night. All seemed ok on it but I didn’t do a close inspection of the bushing.
I have a 2020 Gladiator with 55k miles. It has been lifted 3.5” with 37” tires for most of its life and running Synergy tie rod, Synergy track bar, synergy sector shaft brace for a few years. I recently got a shimmy when hitting bumps and to help resolve I replaced the drag link with Synergy and...
I have some play in my stock drag link and have the rest of the Synergy steering upgrades so planning to add the Synergy drag link. I am running a 3.5" Clayton lift and aftermarket wheels meeting the specs noted on the Synergy site for running the drag link flipped. Seems like this will...
This was phase 1 of my build and is no longer setup this way. But the tires were 35x12.5r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They don’t stick out at all, fully under the fenders with stock wheels.
My Gladiator was just retired from its daily driver status with a BMW X3 M40i. It’s a little more efficient but much faster and fun on my daily commute to work. And now I can build the Gladiator even bigger now that it doesn’t need to fit in parking garages.
I wanted to provide an update. The dealer was able to get the sensor part and replaced it and the issue is resolved. They did not need to replace the entire rear or use the bypass plug. Lockers are working again and I got the Jeep back yesterday.
It is for sure locked now and we have been unable to unlock it with the on off buttons. The dealer is trying to get it to unlock and pull the plug so I can drive it home.
Will do and that is what the dealer is currently investigating. Seems like that is the right fix and the replacement of the entire rear seems like a ridiculous requirement.
Thank you for the feedback. I will credit the dealer, they just called and are looking at my Jeep again to see if they can fix it. Good to know they are trying. But seems like I may be in a gray area with the gearing and the proximity of the sensor. Any idea if the sensor is located inside...
Thank you for the quick reply. I guess I made the assumption that driving highway speeds with the rear locked would cause an issue but I am not actually sure. Glad to hear you feel it would be ok. I am only 5 miles from the dealer but would be driving at 60 mph. Also good suggestions on what...
I am hoping someone can provide some recommendations for me. I have a 2020 JTR with about 42k miles on it. A couple weeks ago while driving on the highway my rear locker showed it engaged (on its own). I know it isn't supposed to engage while in 2wd or 4 high but it seems like there was an...
That's unfortunate on the shock availability, but I would wait it out to get what you want so you don't have to replace down the road. I have the adjustable with res and they are awesome. I use the adjustments quite a bit with soft for wheeling, about in the middle for day to day and stiff for...
