I have a perspective that I don't think I have ever seen posted in any of the hundreds of diesel jeep threads I have read over the 15 years of waiting and 2 years of owning. It all starts with Crude.
Crude Oil is the raw material which gets pumped out of the ground, shipped around the world, and...
Greetings from Shore Drive.
I will be looking into and joining up with any groups for trail rides to Peter's Run, or Uwharrie.
Actually any Jeep'Fest events are fun too.
Here are a few pix.
So is it just me, or does these trucks look even better with some junk in the trunk?!!
13k miles in 6 months.
2 Badge of Honor trail rides, Obstacle Courses, National Parks, Surf fishing expeditions that involved taking a ferry just to getaway from it all….
and like John Lennon said:
“There are no problems, only solutions”.
No leaks
No problems
Mopar lift works great on 37s...
So let's not forget what forum we are on. This is a Jeep forum, and if there is any group of vehicle owners who will do whatever it takes to increase any aspect of their vehicles performance or capacity... its a bunch of jeepers.
So what would it take?
Dana 60's would be plenty to go up to 1...
There's a company from down-under called "The Long Ranger" and they have been making auxiliary tanks for installation between the framerails where it belongs. It's an additional 18 gallons of gasoline. I don't see a diesel version yet.

I searched 6 pages of this thread and have not found this request yet:
Snorkel (aka: high air intake) for the EcoDiesel 3.0L.
Hopefully MOPAR can come up with something sleek and multi-purpose.
Why not look at utilizing that fake fender vent just behind the drivers side front wheel as the...
How about cutting out all the DEF and extra exhaust garbage between the manifold and muffler... for the states that don’t require that stuff.
On the other end of the spectrum: what does it take to increase the functional limit of payload and towing?
I’m modifying this thing, so “E” rated tires...
To those who say “Nay” to diesel ROI, I have 3 questions:
1.) How many jeeps have you owned AND lifted/modified? (Less than 1 you are disqualified)
2.) How much did you really really spend on getting the performance back to stock 0-60 times? (Again if less than $250 you are disqualified)
3.)...
With the huge price up charge that Jeep is charging for the EcoDiesel, they should be including Dana 60 rear on the Gladiator.
Then it could handle all the torque of the EcoDiesel/Rubicon ultra-low gearing; with full 7650/1700 tow/payload capacities.
It’s ridiculous to de-rate an engine/tranny...
I saw this video yesterday, and I love it.
I think the reason the cargo rating is low is the Mud Tires have a lower speed and load rating than standard AT.
I started sending emails to Jeep back in 2006 begging for a diesel Wrangler, got my hopes up. Bought a 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder CRD Liberty...
....funny you should mention that.
It was Spring of 2014 and I was taking that back roads (aka: the "Alley") through Florida on a late Sunday night. When I pulled around a soft curve at about 50mph and met this guy...
The picture quality is poor, but that speck in the distance is his jawbone...
***Point*** Remember the Use-Case-Scenario!
A Jeep is not an economy car.
How many owners here have ever lifted their previous Jeeps and plan to do it again?
What was your cost to re-gear, tune, etc. to restore power? (Me: easily over $4000)
What was your MPG after adding all that weight? (Me...
Once I get my Gladiesel... (yep you heard it here first) I will be loving it for its rock crawling, boat ramp pulling, mud hole emptying Torque!
Mileage, cost per mile, service intervals, fuel range are all secondary to me.
The whole point for purchasing a Rubicon is traction. Think claws...
Double check my numbers please?
The Crawl ratio is 77.4 to 1 on the Ecodiesel.
I just want everyone to recognize that with 455 lb/ft of torque, that multiplies out to 35,217 lb/ft at the wheels!!!
That is more than the 1999 F550 PowerStroke!
Newer PowerStrokes have of course significantly more...
