Very surprising to see it in their system already. I wonder if that means it will be available right away given how there's still a lot of other things that are supposed to be late availability (like power sliding top) and missing from the options list.
Any chance you will have parts available right when the JL is available? Basically I'm wondering if Jeep is sharing JL specs with the aftermarket so they will have parts soon after it is in the hands of owners. I've heard they may be working directly with a few vendors.
Ford said it will pretty much be the same global Ranger with a few adjustments for US buyer preferences. With the JT coming out the same time Ford is being too conservative imo.
But what does BOF attachment points have to do with changing over from steel to aluminum though? I thought none of the frame was going to be aluminum and only non structural parts would be switching to aluminum? The leaked alcoa memo mentioned front and rear door inners, hood outer and inner.
I just came across this Detroit News article (dated Nov. 20) and thought you all might want to know. It looks like we could have more of a wait before they reveal the JL. At least production doesn't seem to be pushed back for both JL and JT.
Since Detroit is only a month away I would that means...
Went back to looking at the preview image versus the JK and its clear the headlights will be bigger. And they also look oblong instead of the current round lights?
Got to thinking...the JT Wrangler is where Jeep will make its fat margins off this next generation since I doubt JL sales will be that much more than JK sales.
And the JT is how Jeep will win new money from its competitors.
I sure hope this is true too!
"Don't worry. There's going to be a true soft top. I can't give my source unfortunately. But the door surrounds won't be integrated into the body, and all three (JL, JLU, JT) will have true soft tops."
