For those that have scratched/marred, stock side view mirror glass and or for those that want less side view mirror glare and a far far wider field of side view mirror vision, do consider replacing your stock side mirror glass with a @Suma Performance side mirror glass offering.

I installed my Suma's, 2 years ago.... 5/23 .

I have driven over 55,000+ mi. with them installed. --Absolutely terrific they are!

And YES, they have held up well... Today, they still look as new..... One of my most favorite adds to my JL...

Install is easy easy for anyone. Old, stock side mirror glass literally/ easily pulls right off and then you push on the new side mirror glass.. Takes but a couple of minutes to do on each side. No tools needed ..

--> Suma's Ceramic Spray offering is terrific also.. I have been using that since 5/23.

They are an easy install - except in my case, of course, my stock mirrors just had to be really stubborn. I mean they were a real @#$% to get pulled out. From there on, though, it was fine. Sometimes you get a stackup of tolerances where one parts is on the small side of spec, the other part on the large side of spec, and you get a nasty fit.
I thought I was going to bust the stock mirrors getting them out.
New truck coming I hope and will transfer the Suma mirrors to the new one. No way i'm letting those go.

There are just two things I wish Suma would do differently -
The stock mirror blind spot arrow has an orange LED that lights up, and when the sun is shining at your back and directly on the stock mirrors, that BSD arrow doesn't "glow".
Suma appears to use a clear LED behind the glass with an orange overlay. That orange is very reflective. With the sun just right it actually appears as if the BSD arrow is lit up! My son asked me what was wrong with my truck when he borrowed it - he said the BSD kept showing vehicles beside him when there was nothing.
So I rode with him and sure enough - a bright light like the sun hitting the mirrors makes it look like that orange arrow is lit - you have to do a double-take and realize it's not quite as bright, but still looks lit.
I wish Suma would address that - change to clear with an orange LED so it can't shine like it's lit.

The other thing I'd change - have their mirror angle set so that I see more of the other lane and less of my own truck when the mirrors are as far out as they will go. That would require mounting the mirror on the mount slightly different.
My left mirror, fully out as far as it will go - still shows too much of my own truck, could show more of the other lane.

Glowing but there is nothing there.........

Mirror all the way out to the left, could show less of my own truck. I have to run them full out. Any farther in and all they show is my truck and a bit of the other lane -

Otherwise, love 'em.

For those interested in the Suma Performance mirror install process...

I have done the install on a few JL's and JT's. An easy install it is.. but, it will make your butt pucker the 1st time you do the install. :giggle: Strange feeling, forcefully prying off a side mirror glass...

The deed:

Position the stock mirror in a position where you can get your fingers behind either side of it.. Place your finger tips behind the mirror and pry the mirror off.

It with some force / typically, not to much force ... pries right off. IF you have wires connected to your stock mirror glass be careful and carefully/ gently, disconnect the wire(s).

Now, you take the SUMA mirror glass... attach the wires you detached (if any) from the stock mirror glass to the Suma mirror glass. Now, just firmly press the Suma mirror glass to the place that you pried it off of.. That is it.

Geeez, you are going to like the installed Suma's. Thanks @Suma Performance for such a terrific offering!

Note: IF you find that the driver's side view once the side mirror is adjusted fully outward, shows too much of the rear fender flare for your liking... do know there is a tweak you can do. PM me if you need that tweak info.

Notice.... no fender flare showing in driver's side mirror view on my JL.

Since both myself and my wife drive my truck, a Suma solution to aim would be best.
I fun them all the way out on the left especially while she, being shorter and running the seat forward, moves them in a bit. So they must remain totally adjustable as from factory but the left especially needs to view less fender and more road.
First thing she does when getting in...I run the seat forward for her and she adjusts all of the mirrors.

Argh! Anyone experience this?
This was during REMOVAL. (so I could put them on the new JT)
The stock/original mirrors came off SO HARD I thought they were going to break to pieces when I first installed these.
These went on fairly easy but it was a horrible struggle to get them back off again.

My Son installed a set of Suma Performance mirror glass on his 2023 Tacoma a couple of weeks ago..

My Son called and said, I was right that the Install was easy like with the JL/JT ...... and he went on and on how I was so right how terrific the Suma Performance mirror offering is.

For those that running marred up mirror glass and or mirror glass that gets that sparkly distortion when the sun hits them, do consider replacing your mirror glass with Suma Performance Mirrors..

Also, for you guys/gals that tow a trailer with your JT.... The wide angle these Suma Performance mirrors give you is terrific and will make your trailering safer and more pleasurable.

Mine broke - I can't put them in the new JT. The install and removal was extremely tight - and they came apart as I removed them from the 2022.
So they sit in a box.
At least on my 2022 - the install wasn't as "easy" as advertised. I was literally flexing the entire mirror taking the stock ones out, and then putting the suma mirrors in, I could see them actually flex before they snapped in.

I've installed the Suma Performance side mirrors on 6 JL and JT's to include my own JL. I've installed on all model years except a 2025. I always found the install(s) easy to do.. I am not sure why you had difficulty with the install.

I have communicated with a few guys and one gal on the JL Wrangler forum and one fellow from this forum that installed the Suma's and all told me yes, unnerving to pull the OEM mirror but the install process was easy for them.

Yes, each time I remove an OEM side mirror from a JL or JT, I do cringe a bit.. but again never any issues with the install.

Real nice product the @Suma Performance side mirrors are. Quality product for sure..

Did you see the pictures I posted of where my Suma mirror broke?
I'm not saying my 2022 wasn't on the "tight side" of manufacturing tolerances in the mirror area - it happens, but the extremely thin plastic back of the Suma was very simple to break upon removal. It's maybe 1/64th of an inch thick where it broke, if that.
The original install on my 22 wasn't too bad, but it really stressed things getting the stock mirrors out. (having worked with mirrors on classics for years, I knew a couple of tricks). I centered the mirrors so that they were neither in or out, up or down, and got in on both sides, fingers spread to spread the load on the mirrors, and they came out extremely difficult. The sumas really had to be pushed hard to get them in on the 2022 - they did not "just snap into place". I had to gorilla them - there was no "snap" but they were secure.
So either the factory power mirrors were a bit off spec or the latches not nice and clean, maybe flashing or something, or the Suma mirrors were off. And the fact the right one snapped with a straight, even pull, was quite disappointing. Then I saw just how thin they are in the area that broke (refer to pictures).
I liked them while they were on my 2022 - other than the fact that arrow glowed as if lit when the sun was behind you - my son figured it out - they didn't use the same process the factory did but use a plain LED behind an orange film in the mirror - causing it to literally glow in the sun making it look like there was someone behind you. My son pointed that out, too, when he borrowed the truck. He asked what was wrong with it as it kept indicating a vehicle beside him when there was none. It was the Suma mirror construction process.

So I guess the fact they have that problem with the sun making it appear as if there's a vehicle beside you, and the fact - it's BROKE, means I can't use them again even if I ignored that orange glow in the sun, which I did for 2 years.

Check out my photos of the arrow "glow" further up. They didn't take into account that their process would allow that to glow - where the factory mirror does not allow that because they use an orange LED behind there. Suma uses an orange layer behind the "glass", And it's REFLECTIVE.

Look at how THIN the area is where that "ring" is made onto the mirror backing ->

They wanted my honest opinions in the deal, and that's what I'm giving.
I'm in no way inexperienced with mirrors, or repairs. I've had classic car mirrors redone and have dealt with repairing the old cable control remote mirrors for years. Their process isn't nearly the same as originals.

But again, it doesn't matter, becuase mine BROKE so It's done for. And I was pulling EVENLY, straight out.
