I am wanting to get a lift installed on my jeep and inquired one of my local shops for pricing. They quoted the lift pictured below installed for $1,350 out the door. I have never paid to install a lift (just purchased them already lifted in the past) a on vehicle and was wondering what you guys thought of the cost? It is the Rough Country version.

That is crazy. It’s about 4 hours worth of labor give or take. Most shops should charge between $50 to $100 an hour plus maybe $50 for shop supplies plus lift cost. I would shop around or do it yourself in the drive. Cost will be about the same when you figure jack and tools but then you have them. Just get a buddy to help you. Mine all work for beer and food. If you choose to do it yourself just be sure to re torque you work after a couple days. I put that same lift on minus the shocks. Front sets a little high after install so not a true level. Took it off went with Metalcloak ride right 3.5 lift and level along with Falcon shocks and added 37’s ride is much better and sits perfectly level.

I was quoted anywhere from $1000-$1500 for my Clayton lift install/align. Not including lift

That's sounds about right if that includes the lift kit and installation and a alignment, for a spring lift between $1000 and $1500. My Readylift SST 2.5 spacer lift was $801 out the door for lift kit, Installation and Alignment.

Whether It was a good deal or not, I wouldn't pay 8-900 dollars to have a level kit installed. I'd gladly just do it in a day with a buddy or even solo. I'd definitely shop around.

My times worth more than that and that's mostly what matters to me. If it's gonna take me more than a hour then I'm letting someone else do it. I got to much going on during the day to mess with stuff working a full time job and running a full time business. I out source everything

Fair enough but I did my own front end in 4 hours with basic tools. I'd imagine a shop could knock it out much quicker. But at around 200 an hour in labor that's steep imo.

The Readylift was $450 by itself and then $50 for a Alignment plus then the Labor. $801 seemed pretty reasonable. The other cheapest price i got quoted was $1050 out the door and dealership wanted $1200 to do the job. Shops around my way get no less than $99 a hour for anything and that was 2yrs ago, it's $125 a hour now.

That's also for front and rear, that kit is a 2.5" spacer in the front and 2" spacer in the rear, they also installed my steering stabilizer.

The 1350 quotes includes the lift kit as well. I was thinking ~$900 for labor sounded a bit pricey. I’m not sure if the price included alignment or not. I’m going to ask that tomorrow for sure now.

I got a great deal on mine from a local shop.

$630 to install a Clayton 2.5" lift, mount and balance 35s, install wheel spacers, install programmer, do alignment, and re-torque and check everything after 500 miles.

Brooklyn Auto Care In Brooklyn, MI for anybody in the area.

That is crazy high for a level kit that barely involves any work in the rear...basically just shocks, which takes half hour tops. Would be more reasonable if it were a full lift kit. Personally think 2.5 for a level kit is too much in the front. It’s going to leave you front end high. I would look at doing at least 3/4 spacer in the rear. Very cheap and would not require anything additional in the rear at that small amount of lift.

Hey I didn't realize it's just for the front, my bad for not reading correctly. I thought it was a full lift kit, front and rear. I'd say $1350 is pretty darn high altogether for that. If it was front and rear I'd say not bad but I wouldn't pay more than $800 to $900 to have something like that done and that's including a alignment. I'd shop around and see what others tell you.

I agree with @Ar4130 on that being to much for a leveling kit. A 1.5 inch spacer lift in the front will pretty much level one out. I would imagine those springs are gonna give you probably closer to 3 inches of lift if your sitting stock based on the 2.5" rough country spring lift I had on my JKU. After I added weight, winch and bumper I ended up at 2.75 inches in the front. My 2.5" Readylift spacer lift which gives you 2.5" in the front and 2" in the rear left me with about .50" of rake and after I added the Rubicon springs in the front it's got a little less than a 1/4 inch of rake. If your content on putting that lift on then you should consider throwing a 1" spacer in the rear, that my opinion on it. Mine looks like this currently for reference
