Bought a set of Bestop fabric soft doors from Morris4x4 before the Bestop-announced April price increase. Arrived less than two days after I placed my order (amazing!). I bought the doors to make multi-day, open-air overlanding trips possible.

Front doors assembled and fit quite easy. Back doors assembled even easier, but were MUCH harder to make fit. One looked like no amount of adjustments were going to make it fit. The latch was just too far up for the striker on the door to connect when closing. I loosened everything a few more times, bent a few things, cussed more, and finally made that last rear door fit-ish. I still have to pull down on the door a bit when closing to get it to latch shut.

Despite the challenge of the rear doors, I am delighted to be free of the excess weight and on/off inconvenience of the hard doors, and relish the freedom the soft doors allow when travelling topless and doorless in the JT. Longer off-road trips will be more fun knowing I can easily carry the lightweight soft doors in the bed and throw them on if it rains.

Don't worry - my expectations are LOW - I just want the soft doors to keep out 95% of the rain and I expect them to be noisy as heck on the highway. My Glad is my second vehicle, so it is a bit easier to just drive it on fun trips or nice days.

ive wanted these for SOOO long, but I just havnet found any reliable first hand experience with them. So im curious what your thoughts are.

Does a lot of wind get in?

are they such a PITA that they are not worth using?

is it practical to have the uppers? (as in do they actually block the weather and are they a pain to re install)

whats the sound difference? I dont mind the loud wind noise with tube doors, but im curious what difference these make.

I will give you a full report soon. I actually haven't driven the Jeep with them on yet. It is supposed to be warm here in Michigan later this week and I'll take it out for a spin and let you know.

I can't speak for the Gladiator ones, but I have had Bestop Soft Doors on both of my TJ's.
They seal extremely well and you can even get a bracket to mount mirrors to them.
Removing and reinstalling the uppers is very easy and It's great to just take the top half off, throw them in the back, but still have something to help keep the mud out and heat in on borderline weather days. I love mine.

For those who have never seen them, this is what they look like on the inside.

I have just the front set for my JT. I bought them because I loved them for my old TJs. They are VERY loud on the highway. Louder than doorless I think. They seal ok. Some minor leaking but that’s to be expected. If you’re going above 55 they want to get sucked out and sometimes have a gap big enough to stick your hand out. I still love them and use them often for days when it is likely to rain. The mirror mount doesn’t line up correctly which has been a known issue with no fix that I know of. The mirrors work but the fabric from the top half of the door looks bunched.

Don't expect them to be awesome on the highway on the first trip out. As @HeartwoodJT mentioned, the top of the uppers can wing out. This is totally normal and preventable. You simply need to bend the upper front corner of the door inward toward the Jeep so that it has preload when shut. Go ahead and bend those suckers, you won't break the wire frame and if you do, we got you covered. It may take a few drives and a few tries to get it right but once you do, they're good to go :)

Thank you, Lee. I won't expect super awesomeness on the highway. In fact, I will avoid the highway and stick to as many dirt roads as I can. Some highway is inevitable, so I will be prepared to bend away!!
