I’m writing this in anger and disbelief. I bought a brand new 2020 Jeep gladiator in April of 2020. I’ve taken it to Jeep to get it serviced at recommended intervals. I’m in sales and drive a lot and have 86,000 miles. I don’t do off-roading racing or anything like that. I’m driving one day on the high way and I hear a gear slip. I pull over and from that point on, my auto transmission no longer changes gears. Was told 10 days ago I need a brand new transmission. My warranty ended at 60k miles, good will is sometimes used when you’re 24k miles out of your warranty so I missed it by 2k miles. A new transmission is going to cost $6,000. I used to love my Jeep im now pissed beyond belief.

I would be pissed off myself .
I would assume highway miles .
I hope you get everything resolved. Just thinking to myself I wonder if there is any at the scrap yards yet .Maybe find a used one with minimal miles on it.

So where were you the previous 3.5 years but only decided to join now to vent?
Living trouble free miles. Helps prove the theory that bad stuff gets posted while the good times roll on without a post.

It also shows that transmissions need service too. (But the manufacturers don’t care because it won’t fail until it is out of warranty).

Yeah, I know. Just find it funny those people who only found reason to join with the need to scream a Public Service Announcement of their woes. Most will be single digit posters and never seen again.

Parts fail. It’s always a bummer when that happens, however, it’s all part of ownership. 80,000 trouble free miles is pretty good. I have had vehicles over the years that have been basket cases and others that have been great.

Still a bummer when a major repair is required but it would not sour me on either the brand or the vehicle. If I liked the vehicle overall then I would get it fixed, save some money where I could, use a good independent shop and look forward to another 80,000 trouble free miles.

Umm yes....its how i even found this forum. i was looking for people who could help me with a similar vehicle or problem. You're judging me because what brought you to this forum isn't what brought me to this forum? Hopefully I get the vehicle fixed soon and can be an active member. I'm sorry you came here first?

I’m curious..

Do you have a lift/bigger tires? Do any regearing or anything? Just trying to see if additional weight can impact the transmission, since I had a buddy with a similar issue in his 2020, but he did some wild stuff to it.

I get your point if people only come here to say negatives/ problems its no longer a positive/ helpful forum. To just spew my issues and leave is probably pretty annoying to people who have actually been active members. I get it and will keep that in mind after this issue is resolved.
