As you will see in my other thread I like to take photos of my JT, under and inside, every 10k miles or so.

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...ax-two-1-200-and-11-000-miles-pictures.29700/

I am at 19,500 miles on my JT. This weekend I'll probably hit 20k. I'll be changing the oil and taking photos. It will be planned this time, not "oh crap I'm past 10k miles and need pics!". I don't feel I was able to adequately document important parts the previous two times. What should I really be getting good photos of (iPhone 11 Pro Max)? Essentially I'll put the Jeep on ramps up front, then roll under it after it's been washed, and take as many photos of as many parts with as many different zooms and angles as I can (iPhone has 0.5x, 1x, and 2x optical zoom). But as I am still learning about what a car is, and what its parts do and how they work together, I have no idea what to look for. If you all want to see how things look after 20k miles since Halloween of 2019, with going off-roading in the mud/rock trails of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Eastern KY, let me know.

Got the oil changed and snagged photos while the pan was draining and before the rain came.

20,260 miles. I noticed I was hitting a few spots I didnt think I would, mainly front lower control arm connections. Also dented my
my exhaust

surprised how relatively clean the air intake and cabin filters were after 20k miles and lots of forest trails

Naked women..... Hey, you asked what I wanted to see... :CWL:

Seriously though... I think you covered most of what I'd be curious about. I noticed that my front axle has some rust on it, in some pictures from when I had maybe 750 miles on it... That means it was like that when it was built. I can't believe they didn't touch-up something like that with some paint before letting it off the line... Kind of curious if anyone else's was like that when it was new?

If you look where the plug welds are for the axle tubes welded into the differential, and where the axle tube fits into the diff, you'll see the rust.

I guess you could touch it up with a rattle can.

I will be under mine tomorrow. I was scraping alot on Saturday trying to keep up with the JKs and JLs. I hit 1 rock pretty hard when I wasn't paying attention. I think I was messing with the radio or something. Lesson learned.

I could, but it's honestly not bothering me much. I've brushed, cleaned, and painted my share of axles, but they were all VERY old and well-used and dirty. But I was kind of shocked to see a brand new JTR leave the plant with some rust spots on it...

So...any suggestions on what I should be doing to keep rust at bay and treat any current rust? I went to a self-service car wash and put the JT on ramps, slid under to wash it, but they must have been using dirty water because not a bit of my Jeep, top or bottom, was any cleaner after pressure washing. So I'll try again and see if I can tell what's rust and what's not (half the stuff I thought was rust was just really caked on dirt I could scratch away)
