'21 Sting Gray JT Rubicon Build - Redemption

Really missed my JKU: the open air driving, its off road capability, and endless modding possibilities. The problem is.....I left it stock .

Time to redeem myself! always figured I would get another but this time I decided to mix it up a little bit: enter the JT.

I had about 5 months left on the lease of my Grand Cherokee, so had some time to figure out what I really wanted and "needed". After about 30-40 different build configurations on the website, and an endless amount of questions to a JLUR-owning friend/coworker, I FINALLY decided. I called it in to my dealer. Left my deposit and started to anxiously await its arrival.

Well, It has been a long time coming and I could not be happier that it is finally here! Picking it up next week and already have more than a few boxes of mods to make it my own. More on that later

Wheels: 17x9 Black Rhino York finished in Gunmetal. Black was too easy of a choice and am happy I went with these. LOVING the look.

Tires: 35x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

REALLY looking forward to seeing them mounted.

Finally picked up the Gladiator today.....absolutely LOVE this thing!

Teaser pictures dealer sent me as I was driving up to Fitpatrick Jeep in Ansonia, CT. Amazing dealership and very friendly staff!.....thanks again Mark!

Wheels are on and can't stop staring at these things. Very aggressive - almost too aggressive - but I have no complaints.

Had a bunch of small things I wanted to install right away:

Rugged Ridge Door Entry Guards
All weather mats
13" Stubby Antenna
Door hinge covers (pre-cut PPF I ordered didn't arrive in time)
Exterior Key hole covers
Rubber tubing for fenders
Covers for door alignment pins (didn't like the idea of seeing that bare metal all the time)
Center console organizer
Tow hitch cover
Nav screen protector
Grab handles

As it currently sits awaiting vinyl and "Gladiatior" tailgate badge (hopefully tomorrow)

Finally got around to working on the tailgate. Wanted to install the matte black vinyl and the Gladiator Badge I got from Limitless Parts.

Step 1: Removal of the factory "Jeep" badge

Had to be be patient with a hairdryer and some plastics pry tools. Wanted to salvage them to use on a future project so did not want to damage them. A little Goof off took off all of the remaining residue that the heat and my thumbs couldn't remove.

Step 2 & 3: Apply vinyl and badge

Unfortunately I did not take progress pics as I was too excited and just kept working. I was having trouble with the area around the taillights and ended up ruining the vinyl out of frustration.

Replacements are on the way and am having a local shop do the install for me. Not taking the chance again haha. They will be covering the backup camera trim also.

In addition to the tailgate, I was able to finally install my Bestop Sunrider on my day off. Great timing too because it was the PERFECT day in NJ. The sun and wind felt AMAZING!
