Hey All,

This feels like a odd question but I am posting it anyway. I have read about issues putting larger spare tire in due to fitment issues. One video I watched there was what looked like a sheet metal housing the spare fits into. Well I am getting ready to upgrade tires and lowered the spare and I did not see the housing. Was this only on certain years or models?

I just peeked under my Mojave and it has the metal sheet. But only on the left side, between the spare and the exhaust. It appears to be a heat shield.

I just crawled back under and I could have swore that heat shield was not there... LOL. In my mind or should I say memory that was on both sides of the spare.

My mistake I am sure!

THANKS!

My 35" spare tire fits fine on my Mojave. Others have reported that a "small" 37 may squeeze in there as well.

I've got a 37" BFG KO2 under mine. It fits, I believe I did let some air out of it to make it easier.

I had to remove the heat shield in order to fit my 37” Falken Wildpeak, but it is fully inflated too. I’ve not had any issues with exhaust heat damaging the tire since its removal.

If whatever tire you choose doesn't fit you can buy a bent track bar to allow fitment of any 37.
