3.0 EcoDiesel Oil - Mopar part number

When it comes to dealers.....Well, I hate them.

I used my 1st of 3 free oil changes ( first oil change ever) on a dealer I have never used before and I feel like they used the wrong oil.

Can anyone supply me with the correct part number for the oil that should be used in the Gen3 diesel?

On the invoice it states that they used 68523985AA

Thanks but I find the Mopar parts sites almost useless. Just earlier today a guy on FB said part# 68231020AA is the correct part number (which is also on Mopar parts site) if you look long and hard enough you will find a few other ones as well.

The good thing about it is, you have documentation showing the dealer used the part number you listed. So it's on them if it's wrong.

The link I gave you specifies G3 right in the part description, most other sites just list compatible years and engines.

As stated above, 68231020AA just picked up 9 quarts myself.

It's not the correct part number for the Gladiator, but it is a Euro spec 5w40 oil. However, it is listed for use in the 2017-2018 Renegade gas engine.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I just had my first jeep wave oil change and they used the same part number, 68523985AA. While it isn't the officially listed oil on the MOPAR website as listed above, it does appear that this oil, Pennzoil ultra euro meets the spec for this engine based on the Official 2020+ Ecodiesel Oil Recommendations thread.

What do you all think, it looks like it is fine and shouldn't be cause for concern. Am I just over-thinking this?

OP, did you ever do anything about your first oil change, calling the dealer back?
