Technically its 6K... you have to pay 2K to get the automatic transmission. Where the Ram 1500 comes standard with the Auto.

I was sure thinking they had some sort of 'pre-order' deal going on w/ the Wrangler 3.0L but not sure now?
I guess we'll know for sure when we see a VIN

This is true, but it only really matters if you would otherwise get a Manual with the 3.6L. I personally would only go with the Auto to begin with so it's only $4000.

Yes but the ram is also starting with an e torque v6 which is worth about $1200 extra according to the v8 e torque up charge, so it’s the same cost

Some numbers from a person who actually ordered a Wrangler 3.0L:

Just ordered a Wrangler EcoDiesel. I did so for the increased torque to turn larger tires and for the improved fuel efficiency. at 6% below invoice, the difference in cost between the EcoDiesel and the V6 petrol motor was about $2,800. Here is the calculation:

Diesel PLUS transmission invoice price: $5,310 (engine costs $3,560 and transmission costs $1,780)
V6 Petrol PLUS transmission invoice price: $2,300 (engine costs nothing but transmission is $2,300 invoice)

Diesel PLUS transmission at 6% below invoice price: $4,991
V6 Petrol PLUS transmission 6% below invoice price: $2,162

Real world difference in price between Diesel and V6 petrol: $2,829

Thats interesting. Not too bad at those numbers.
For added comparison, a guy in the ‘Procharger’ thread says he is getting 13mpg & his supercharger cost $8,000. (I bet his face hurts from grinning so much tho!)
PS: Buh-by warranty too

The latest TFL video where they towed with two new Ram trucks, one EcoDiesel and one Hemi, was very interesting. Less than 1 MPG difference between the two, and the diesel was MUCH slower getting the trailer up the hill. The EcoDiesel is a losing proposition financially. We all knew that. But....if it's also slower at towing/working, then... what's the point?
