Just got off the phone with WFO Concepts. Was talking to them about lift kits. AEV vs Clayton vs Rock Krawler. He said go Mopar to my surprise.
Then he suggested 392 springs and shocks.
Has anyone done this?

For the front? JL rear suspension is different. I doubt they’d work.

All the way around. They said they have done a handful of them already. Gains about 1" over stock Rubicon which for my Sport S is around 3 inches.

The rear springs are not plug and play between the gladiator and the wrangler, not to mention the gladiator rear springs are progressive to handle truck bed loads

You’re also a diesel. O way the 392 would lift a diesel.

I could be wrong, but I doubt the V8 weighs more than the diesel.

Doesn’t make sense. The gladiator rear suspension is a lot more closely related to a Ram 1500 than a JL. Also, like previously mentioned, you have a diesel.

I think the 392 sits about an inch higher than a JL rubicon, but agreed on the engine weight.

I’m skeptical on this shop already. I’ve always been told the JL rear springs are different and I know the rear suspension and frame from the back of the cab rearward are way different.

I'm waiting on a call back. I'll definitely post up what they say.

I wonder if whoever you were talking to was referring to work they’ve done on JLs and didn’t realize the difference.
If this isn't a simple miscommunication I'd advise OP to find a new shop.

How do you like the AEV suspension? That is what I was thinking about initially. Besides the JKS but they don't have an actual diesel setup yet.

If you are just looking for the most complete and effective 2" lift, go Mopar. You will not be disappointed.

AEV has dedicated 2.5” springs for the diesel, I just added the rears today (fronts yesterday).

Not yet, just completed today. The net result is 1" rake with a bumper & winch up front and rack & RTT in the rear. It did give a full 2.5" even with the extra weight. I had the AEV 2" spacer kit before but lost quite a bit up front on the stock springs post bumper & winch install. The springs are available for purchase separately, $549 shipped from Northridge.

Running 392 JL gear seems like an unreasonable stretch given there are so many options available for the diesel now. It sounds like your shop has a set of take-off 392 parts laying around that they want to move. Heck, they even have a used part category on their website which is a wee abnormal for a standard shop.
