Hi Phil,

Welcome back Phil.

-Phil
Thanks for the welcome back, Phil! Glad to have the new Gladiator and just kind of making it mine a little at a time, as funds allow! The more I drive it, the more I realize how much fun it really is! Take care and have a great weekend!

The "Other Phil" from Tennessee!!!

You are confirming what I have read, Michael. Lots of trouble with GM engines. I have had good luck with Fords overall though. I really like their 5.0 coyote V8's. I have heard good things about the RAM trucks and glad the RAM diesel is working out great for you! Never had a RAM truck, maybe someday, but sure like the Gladiator I just bought!
I had a 2011 Ford dually and had absolutely terrible luck with it, the truck always had a check engine light on and the dealership cocouldn'get it to stay off. Derated when it felt like it had to pull over and restart it and it would usually work then. Then finally blew a valve at 65k. It was a farm truck was over my 5 years and Ford did nothing to help. Was less than impressed. Also had a Ford 2500 that 2as my personal was a good enough truck but they couldn't get it to stop leaking ac refrigerant. Had to get it charged every 8 months are so. They even replaced my coils and pump but it didn't help. Truthfully I liked the truck enough but was not 8n love how the Fords feel when I sat in them, doesn't make them a bad truck just not the truck for me. I ended up in a Ford because I got tired of getting screwed by dealerships and shopped around hard. When you go to dealerships not being brand loyal it can help in getting a good deal. When I traded in my personal Ford I was at a sister dealership of the Ford dealership and he asked me if he is getting perked around so I can put the pinch on the Ford guys I told him I am trading based on best deal and that it was my first Ford I owned as a personal truck and have had only Chevy trucks until that Ford. He ended up giving me a very good deal on a chevy.

Copy on the good deal on the Chevy. The new Chevys with the AFM & DFM are so problematic, it is not worth taking a chance on, IMHO. Too bad, and as I have mentioned before, the 350's without the AFM years ago were easily 200 to 300K mile engines. Funny how quality has gone downhill. China, I believe, has the controlling interest or stock in GM and that they probably have cheapened things up as well with their influence. Oh well.........
