Ok. I have a chance to grab Rubicon 4:10 rings for $200 with 12K on them. They look clean.
I'm running 33s. May eventually go 35s or 37s but not for a long time. Probably more likely 35s next.
IS it worth it to grab and swap?

If you can do the swap yourself then yeah I think thats worth it.. If your paying labor for it then probably not

I would not recommend using used r&p gears but many people do it.

I would wait..if you are going to 35's then you will want 4.56 gears. or 37's then 4.88. 4.10's are a little weak for 35's.

I like Dana/Spicer gears. I have ran used sets no problems ( keep it Dana/Spicer.)
You need to know a good pattern, and how to look at used gear sets. Remember ( on old Dana anyway ) they are numbered matched sets. I have seen to many unmatched set trying to be sold as good. This does not work.

Hell if I have to regear to run 35's then I am just going to be on 33's for the life of the truck (LOL). Was planning on going to 35's once I burn up the 33's

General consensus is that it’s not worth the cost to go 1 step lower. If you have 3.73 go to 4.88. Free gears may make the swap a little more fiscally palatable but used gears are not something many people would try to save a buck on. Differential maybe but gears I wouldn’t. Ymmv.

There's a WHOLE LOT of people just on this forum running 35s on 4.10 gears! That's one of the first thing Rubicon owners seem to do - up from the stock 33 to 35.
If I can run 33s on 3.73 gears why can't someone run 35s on 4.10 gears?

Yea, I stayed with the 3.73's when I put on the 33's but now with the 35's it struggles up hills. Still get 15mpg but it runs lower gear and higher ram up hills. I would wait if you think you are going to 35's. If you are staying with 33's then get the 4.10's now. You will still need kits and depending on mileage, new axle bearings.

I have 3.73s with 35s and wouldn’t waste my money on used 4.10s personally. 3.73s are OKAY with 35s, but there is a big difference with the size vs performance from stock Sport 31s to 35s. I can’t imagine the 4.10s would make enough of a difference in my opinion.

Basically, if I’m shelling out the $$ for gears I’m going for the lower 4.56 or 4.88 gears.

I made it ok with a pedal commander. 4.56 going in my Overland on Oct 2. 4.10's are OK with 33's. Thats what the Rubi comes with.

Forgive my ignorance, but why? I'm sure others will ask.
Once gears are broken in, they wear in a specific pattern. Then someone pulls them out. IF they can manage to keep the matched set, the guy who sets them up has to hit that same wear pattern, else the gears will wear prematurely. Call a reputable gear shop & ask them if they will set up used gears-

The goal in setup is to hit the same pattern type. That's what the white paste is for, to get that pattern just right on the teeth.
Not a whole lot different than changing every single bearing in the differential.
Quite a few gear sets get sold and bought with classic cars as you can't always get what you want new.

If given a choice, I'd definitely prefer new - but if I can't find what I want new, I'd take extremely low miles used.
If I want to regear my cars, I pretty much have to buy used unless I want certain ratios. Not a lot of choice, and so far I've not seen anyone complain about their used gears.

Pinion depth, lash, preload, we had to match patterns in drive-train classes, our pattern had to match a picture we were assigned.

First choice should be new.
