so I have less than 500 miles on the new gear sets and my "Service 4 wheel drive light" is coming on. It resets when I take it out of 4 low and stop then restart the engine? What the heck? anyone else go thru this? 22,000 miles in all, trouble free, 12 BOH trails, and many more non BOH trails. Headed to Ouray Co. in a week. Slightly worried, but everything seems to be working. Traction control turns off in 4 lo when the service 4 wheel drive light comes on. Weird I used a super good shop, and used Dana gears.

No. Seems like a reasonable task with new gearing. Is it cheaper to buy the tazer than head to the shop?

Wait. Sorry. Backup. You have done 12 BOH trails, converted all the way to 5.13, and didn't realize you needed to get your computer reset for the gears? I'm just baffled how you let that one slip by.

If you’re doing mods, the Tazer is a cheap investment. It has so many features and benefits beyond letting you set tire size and gear ratios.

Tazer mini would probably a good bet. I think you could get away with a Tazer lite too, but mini has ton more features

The Jeeps computer monitors the output shaft of the transmission and compares it to the rear wheel speed when in 2 wheel drive. When in 4 wheel drive it monitors all 4 wheels. Since you changed gearing to 5.13, and didn't tell it you did that, it thinks something is slipping. Usually you can do a gear change one size up and get away with it, but going to 5.13 will most likely trigger a code. I believe that it would be more likely to toss a code in 4 wheel drive because the computer is receiving more than one strange wheel speed reading.

It’s worth it, don’t get the lite get the mini. Lots of cool features. I turned mine back to 4:10 and as soon as I pulled out of the driveway I got all the lights. Put it back to 5:13 and all is good.

I have a re-gear to 5.13s on the 26th. I bought the tazer lite because I didn't need all the other features on my base sport. Am I missing something? I just want to eliminate start stop , tire size and gear change.

you can change light settings, disable/enable audio/video features, you can have Nav works while you drive, lock the wheels while on a hill, line lock for burnouts….lots of fun stuff but if all you need is the basics then the lite works too.

Nah, and I think you can update to full features later on if you want them. I believe it is just a software unlock.

So I've ordered a programmer, but it will not be here in time for my Colorado trip, and I will be using 4 lo. I'm okay with the dummy light that resets. I just don't want to fry or damage anything else while using 4 lo.
