JTRD is getting delivered in about two weeks. Deciding to go with the Mopar lift to keep the warranty (would rather go with something else but warranty will be important).

Got a quote for $6500+ tax to get the Jeep fitted upon delivery with the Mopar Lift, Method wheels, and 37” BFGs (KO2s, not KM3s like I would prefer).

This seems absurd. I asked for a cost breakdown of the quote and was informed it’s “a package.”

Where have you guys gotten your work done? How much did it cost? Any issues with warranty work and having the Mopar lift installed by someone other than the stealership? I getting the Mopar lift for the sole reason of retaining the warranty (especially after reading all the diesel threads on here).

Lift + install has been quoted from $2,100-$2,500 on here

5 method wheels are around $1,300

5 KO2 tires around $1500

Mounting, balancing, alignment maybe $300?

Recalibration maybe $100?

I mean, it doesn't sound too crazy if I'm honest. Might be a bit of fat in there but my quick math puts it in the wheelhouse.

Yeah you’re more in the 5500 range and have one more wheel/tire (my quote was for 4). That’s kinda what I was expecting based on similar math. Remove wheels and tires and the lift plus install comes out to around $3500-4000

Don’t forget the stealership tax. Sad but true in most cases.

Lift, wheels, tires and all labor was like $4800 for me. The pricing will vary greatly with your choice of tire and wheel. KO2’s for example are way more expensive than say a Grabber ATX which I went with - $1600 vs $1900 for a set of four from my dealer with the mopar coverage.

I'm thrifty so that sounds crazy high. This is where I would be at.

$2000 lift and install
$1500 tires
$1000 wheels
$120 mounting and balancing
Free alignment check at Firestone
$200 +/- if alignment needed

For myself I'd take the install price of the lift out of the equation.

This was almost exactly what I paid for my set up, i thought it was a steal to have the dealer do it before pick up for this price too!

This is what I was expecting too. Any Orange County, CA guys have a recommendation? Don’t want to put a specific dealership on blast here on the site just because of a quote.
Feel free to PM.

Tires are gonna be around 400+ per 37 right now so you are looking at at least 2K before taxes if you want 5 bfg ko2's.

Lift is another 2K or so installed. Can go cheaper if you just diy or take it to another shop. A lot of places will do a lift install for 500 bucks around here for something simple like spacers/mopar etc. The method wheels are what they are, probably 1500 or so?

So yeah like 5500-6K with mounting balancing alignment etc. 6500 is honestly not that absurd from a dealer if its gonna maintain warranty.

This is what I was hoping to pay. Haha

Post a picture on the Gecko thread when it’s done. Think our builds are almost the same.

They’re called stealerships for a reason and you’re getting robbed.

First off they can't void your entire warranty over you installing a lift kit or tires.
Install it yourself and save some money. Have the tires done at a reputable shop and see if you can get unlimited rotation/balance and road hazard while you are at it.
Buy a tazer and recalibrate tires yourself.

Yeah you’d think so and I’m banking on you (and others) being right. I had to fight constantly with my LJ over everything (that was over 10 years ago) - leaking rear main was an all out screaming match every time. They threatened to flag it - if it wasn’t for the head service advisor wanting to buy it I’m sure they would have.

This is my first Jeep since then (everything else I never bothered to modify). I just don’t want to deal with that again.

I don't blame you. I'm leary of dealerships as well.
