On my wife's old JKU I could access the wiring harness to the rear lights by removing the plastic cover on the door sill on the passenger side. It was pretty straightforward by popping out the push pins holding the plastic panel down to the sill, and looking at videos it looks like the JLU is the same. But I'm looking at my Gladiator, and there are no push pins on that plastic piece and I don't want to try prying it up too aggressively and breaking it. Is the wiring harness still routed under that plastic, and how does that plastic come up?
UPDATE: Got it worked out - there's a bunch of hidden tabs that have to be worked with. Anyway, I've now got my switch installed, and the Jeep's tail lights wires tapped for my home-grown version of the CoolTech harness. The next step is to route a set of wires from the switch, through the firewall, and out to the front bumper so I can connect to the motorhome.
