Adapted JLU Mopar (Yakima) Roof Rack for MX4 TS Bed Cover

Was looking a way to mount a roof cargo box over the Backflip MX4 TS tonneau cover. Primarily to carry skis in the winter leaving the bed to load the trip supplies/gear, or other trips where I need a little more storage capacity.

I know the Realtruck Elevate rack is an option, but I wanted something lower profile and cheaper. I already have the Mopar roof rack for the JLU, which uses 60" Yakima Jetstream bars, so I wanted to try and reuse them. I saw a few people here with Yakima racks over the bed or tonneau but the details were sparse, so I thought I'd post the details for my experience.

Parts

• JLU Mopar roof rack, based on 60" Yakima Jetstream load bars
• Yakima Landing Pad 4 (qty 2)
• Yakima Skyline towers (qty 4)
• Yakima Jetstream adapter and seat p/n 8880637 (qty 4)

I removed the Mopar towers from the load bars, then removed the rubber aero "weatherstripping" from the top of the load bars. Invert the bars and mount the Skyline tower and adapters. Mopar/Yakima may have narrowed the slot dimensions to prevent mounting a tower kit normally on the bottom of the bars, but flipping the bar over works for my application.
