So, I bought this hoping to add a rear tow hook to my Sport S bumper, but the trim won’t fit where the old trim was. Now my bumper is f’ed from me ripping out the old trim lol. Such a pain in the balls. Word of caution for anyone wanting to do the same.

There was a thread about this. It will take cutting a hole into the factory trim to fit the tow hook through...At least that’s what I gathered from the info.

I was just about to buy one of those thinking i could replace the trim in my Sport S bumper with this and add a 2nd hook. Must be the rubicon and sports have a different bumper?

Just cut a hole in the one you have. That is what I ended up doing. Even if it isn’t perfect, you rarely notice.

Do you have a picture? We're you able to do everything without removing the bumper?

Thank you!! So glad I held off on ordering one of these kits. I'll just be ordering the hook and getting some bolts for it. Making a cutout with the back of the bumper as a template should be simple enough

I cut mine with a RotoZip tool, and it looks great. I had one of the trim pieces, but decided I didn’t want to spend hours messing with the bumper.

Hey guys! I actually struggled with this problem for a bit. After hours of research months ago, I figured out a solution. Yes you can cut your factory trim. But for those who want a replacement part without the possibility of damaging your factory piece, the Mojave trims are the same as the sports. The rubicon’s bumper is shaped differently. The Mojave rear bumper is the same as the sport bumper, but the passenger side trim has a cutout for a factory hook. The whole process will take you a while though. I had to remove my rear bumper and take it apart almost completely. But the end result was worth it!! I forgot the part number, but google is what helped me when I was looking!
EDIT: I believe this is the part number- 68342090AA

I just did this Friday evening. Took my time and was able to pull the bumper apart and insert the new bezel. No fitment issues for the bezel on a Sport plastic bumper. Here are the part numbers I ordered:

68351561AA - Tow Hook - Black

6508668AA - (2) Hex Head Bolt and Washer

68342090AA - Rear Bumper Bezel (with cutout)

I cut the trim while the bumper was on the Jeep. Two of the hook bolts are a little hard to install and tighten, but it is easier if you buy 35 mm long bolts with flange head from McMaster, M14x2 thread, 10.9 grade.

Cut mine out with a dremel and sanded the edges to match the drivers side. Looks damn near perfect
