I was performing some clearance checks prior to getting my JT out on the trails and found an unexpected clearance issue. The AEV 2” spacer lift does specify that it will clear 35s on a Sport but that is not the case in my application.
Prior to full bump, the front tire is getting into the flare. At full bump, there is a zero percent chance the flare would survive turning the wheel.
I recall having this kind of trial and error when I was doing frankenlifts on my JKs, but wasn’t expecting issues with an out of the box kit.
At this point, I’m either going to have to chop the flares or install longer bumpstops. Either route is going to add unexpected costs.
This is just an FYI for anyone considering this kit. To get all the facts out there, my wheels are 17x9 w/ 4.75 BS. I imagine AEV tested the fitment with ~5.75” BS on an 8.5” wide wheel which may have allowed the tire to land inside the flare, but it seems that would still be cutting it too close.
