My favorite design, but they are 34lbs. Seems to be on the heavy end of what I am seeing.

Hmmm, I thought that was pretty average.

EDIT: Nope, that's on the high end, you're right. Nobody has the stock wheel weight yet do they?

One comment about AEV wheels.

I read that when AEV did the ZR2 Bison that their wheels were not as strong as the stock wheels and someone already had one break overlanding a built rig. He ended up going back to the stock wheel.

I donā€™t know the particular specs on this wheel but I did read that the Gladiator wheels are beefed up compared to the Wrangler wheels to allow for a higher payload capacity...

Well with your partial concern and the fact they're heavy, I think I've eliminated them as an option. Thanks.

I donā€™t have these but have run the Pintlers on my JK since 2012. There were some Pintlers that had cracking issue, not catastrophic but would leak air. One of mine recently cracked and began leaking. AEV support was great and replaced it. As I understand, there are just a few wheel manufacturers and essentially all the wheels you see have been outsourced to those manufacturers. AEV tried but was unable to find a domestic resource. I found this interesting while researching wheels for another project a couple years ago. Maybe things have changed since.

like so many things these days, we often find the same factories cranking out similar products for many different vendors and nameplates. In my case, AEV proved to be a responsible vendor when things went bad 8 years down the line.

ā€˜Good luck with your choice.i hope you get a product free of issues and a solid vendor in case something isnā€™t right.

I wish they made the Savegre 2 in Onyx. I'm holding out for the new Salta before I make a final decision. I'm thinking they will be at EJS in a few weeks. I'm just not a fan of matte black wheels. The onyx is a good look, thinking it will be nice on my sting gray.
