I've searched the forums but couldn't find the answer to my question. Is there an aftermarket front trail camera that is plug and play with the 8.4" Uconnect touchscreen?

I have seen there is one from zauto.. .but the quality looks like poop @ 480i IMO
camera
The 480 limitation seems to be a limitation of the head unit, not the camera:

Cargo camera input is not a Hi-Definition input like the backup camera, so the video quality will not be as good! This is a high-quality standard definition (480i) camera. There is no way to add a high-definition cargo camera input to the Jeep radio.

It's because it will be utilizing the cargo camera input. So yes and no. If you could actually use the input designed for the trail camera, it would be much better.....if I understand correctly.

somebody on the forum added the oem one with HD. He had to flash the system and I think even rewire the rear cam as well. The cargo cam doesn't look bad, if anythign the rear facing icon is the worst part.

So what type of input is the cargo camera? Can you use the Z automotive with another programmer?

I'm running the Z automotive front facing cam. It's not HD like the rear cam but it gets the job done. Install was fairly simple, I'm satisfied with it. I have to add that Z Automotive customer service is outstanding.

Can you take some shots of it? I would like to see real world images.

Thanks!

I'm thinking of doing this- How long/ difficult was the install and what programmer did you use? The reviews on Amazon are mixed- so I was hoping to get more info.
Fairly easy if you watch a bunch of YouTube installs. I went the extra step of routing the signal and power wire through the firewall so my install was little more involved but it came out factory clean. I used a TAZER JL Mini to enable the camera.
