Just curious where the sensor(s) for the air bags are located and what the look like. I guess I always figured they would either be in or damn near the bumper but that’s clearly not the case at least with a Jeep. With rough off roading and all that goes with it, they must not be very sensitive or rather very sensitive to only a very specific type of shock that only occurs in a collision.

They are listed as "Acceleration Sensor".

Two in the front end, behind bumper exact location unknown.

Two located on B pillar, exact location unknown.

Is it a state secret or just you don’t know?

I don't know.

Not having to mess with them, I haven't gone looking.

I looked at a parts fiche for each and they only show general location.
Fair enough, thanks

Jeep Gladiator Air Bag Sensor Location? 4a4ba4f5b1979e4cf14568698fcc4fc3
Lol, yeah I see what you mean. Not real detailed on appearance or location. I guess they figure if they need replaced the vehicle is almost always totaled so there’s no need to fool with them.

I'm used to motorcycle parts fiche. You can tear down and rebuild a bike with just fiche diagrams.

I think the JKs had the main sensor (combo accel/gyro) located near/under the center console.
