Do you plan on doing offroading with the jeep and trailer? my wife and I are planning on taking our Mini Max trailer up there next summer, similarly setup towing with a JT. Never been there so not really familiar with the area as it pertains to rv camp or boondock.

I have a 20 ft RPod. So far, I've camped a lot of the state run campgrounds up and down from anchorage to Fairbanks, and south towards Seward and Homer. Mostly off the main hwys, so no real off-roading or very minimal required.

There are a couple spots or roads that people like to check out. The Denali Highway is about a 100 mi dirt road, some parts pretty rough since it's not maintained very well. Plenty of spots to boondock and one state run campground along its route, no services though. It's a beautiful area to check out. You got the Dalton hwy that runs most of the way up to the North Slope. I haven't done that yet, and probably won't do for awhile since the Jeep is new. There are multiple things required if you are thinking of doing it. It's a brutal road that's for sure. Do a youtube search on it, there are lots of videos on it, a lot jeep overlanders do it.

Get yourself a Mile Post, it is a pretty extensive guide to roads and such in Alaska.

Banks of Exit Glacier River towards Seward. Bent one of the rear stabilizers hanging up on a dip to this spot. Just choose a spot anywhere along the river.

That looks amazing. I've had the mile post book on my amazon wish list for a while, just haven't pulled the trigger.

There's plenty of places to visit and camp. All covering things you're interested in doing from just relaxing and enjoying the view, kayaking, hiking, boat/plane/helo touring, wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, etc. You can even take a shot of moonshine with a toe in it. :) oh nm, that's in Dawson City, Canada side.

we’re going next summer too, but we’ll be driving my F-350 with a Hallmark expedition pop up camper on the back. Plan on leaving mid May and returning to VA mid August.
Can’t wait!

I'm not sure if I've seen yours around yet I basically only drive Eagle River onto JBER and back but I've seen a couple on my limited excursions around town. Not very common to see 2 Gladiators at once but if you see an orange Rubicon it's probably mine only difference from this pic is I have a bed cover now. Don't know how I hadn't seen this thread before but glad to see someone started a place for us AK'ers. Are you on Jeep'n Alaska?

Hey there. I actually went with a little group from Jeep'n Alaska to Knik Glacier this past weekend. Not sure if I've seen you around yet. My commute takes me from Anchorage to Eagle River.

Oh to add: I work out of the MEA building in ER. You will usually see my Glady parked in front, so if you ever feel like stopping by...
