Wow, that's terrible. I've got ideas but will keep them to myself.

Hmm.. Without more info its hard to tell how much of a numpty the person is. Did they install a trailer brake? What about anti-sway bar? Weight distribution hitch? The dry weight alone of that trailer probably is near the max tow. Was this one of those - "it says 7000lbs tow, just hook it up and lets go" moments?

They may have been trying to avoid a distracted driver oogling their sweet ride!

I just saw that video on FB and was trying to find it to post here. Not good! Sucks for the owner.

Most likely trailer sway and hitting the brakes instead of accelerating

A brake controller with trailer brakes is a no brainer with that set up

Not mine (Hello? D status?!), but if it were, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to admit it here!

Seen this on FB as well. Thats a big ole trailer, I am betting its over 7k lbs.
Not necessarily. My old toy hauler weighed (on a scale) in at 7k with a rhino, 2 quads and full fresh water tank. This one looks about the same size.

But I’d venture no weight distribution hitch the way the vehicle is twisted relative to trailer. And probably no brake controller either. Which probably points to an inexperienced person behind the wheel...

Maybe he was waiting for FCA to sell him their promised yet elusive Gladiator brake controller.

I 6 trailers from a 5th wheel to a small one that hauls a power sprayer. When I see a jackknife my first thought is to much weight in the rear will cause severe sway and it increases as you travel down the highway. You can see this on Youtube from truckers cameras. Either that or he is fully dependent upon the Jeeps brakes to bring that rather large TT to a halt in a hurry and with no brake controller then the trailer takes over jackknifes.

MAX TOW Option and no brake controller with a + 7000 lb rating is a lawsuit looking to happen...
